The next monthly meeting of W. Virginia cat owners will be held at the Kermit Pizza Hut location. Please, RSVP .
Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. This message has been edited by ALLEY CAT on 05-12-2014 at 07:14 AM |

If you figure out the gopher problem, let us know. Interesting that we don't have them at the cottage up north (rural and woods), but definitely have there here at home in the city! Go figure!!! The other part of our problem here is that if the neighbors don't work at eradicating them from their yards, they just keep coming back on ours........ |

We were going to buy the gas/oxygen blaster... but then decided that we should try something more quiet first. With 4 acres, we would be blasting all day long... Neighbors are gonna complain like crazy with that much noise going on... LOL We had some friends come over with pellet guns, gave them a section to work in... At the end of the day we only had a couple of gophers come out of their holes... Losing 2 or 3 a day won't put a dent in the population here. If not for the drought and inground PVC we would just plow up the ground to ruin the inactive tunnels... Then go back thru with the pill treatment on the active tunnels. Which may be the way we end up with... but that will be a last resort. Laying all new PVC, then having our soil blow away during a Santa Ana wind event isn't appealing either. We've got a really a bad situation. No one answer seems to work well. I still think the best would be the blaster... tunnels are destroyed as are all its inhabitants... Being in Cali, someone is gonna get nuts and think we are firing guns over here... In the mean time we are loosing some really great trees. These little ba*tards are able to take down 12-15' apricot trees... thats how bad it is here |

Time for an update:
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Where did the term "Piss Poor" come from?
Some people used urine to tan animal skins. So some families use to all pee in a pot,,,,And then once it was full, the pot was taken and sold to the tannery...
If you had to do this to survive you were "Piss Poor". But worse than that were the really poo folk who couldn't even afford to buy a pot...
They "didn't have a pot to piss in" and were the lowest of the poo folk. This message has been edited by ALLEY CAT on 04-20-2014 at 06:20 PM |

Oprah can afford it with her money supply....or maybe she just wants to be the major player with investment dollars, and let others run the business end of it. She'd have the Jack Nicholson seats at the Clipper games.....we all know 'the STARS come out at the Staples Center' Lots of rumors out there right now,,,and Sterling needs to understand the sale situation,,,or watch his team/organization crumble |

So what is happening in Viperland? It's been real quiet. Herb has sent me a few emails about tooling but none very recently. Ralph appears okay but they finally figured out that SRT isn't a stand alone brand. |

I really hope Ralph is ok... VP of design, I don't know how much say he has to keep the Viper program alive. I'm driving a '13 GTS and I gotta say it's the best Viper yet... We wouldn't have it unless Ralph made a passionate plea...
So when AC posted the funnies this morning... I really appreciated it... LOL |

Some days we all need a good laugh. That's what friends are for. Ralph will be fine. He has talent, drive and he's political. With Ferrari, I'm not sure that Viper will survive long term. They've done a lot with the chassis and engine that they have. The C7 is cutting into the broader market. The loyalists have hung on longer than I would have imagined. |

I'll say it over here, but not on the main Viper boards... we gotta have auto, or automated manual... we cant compete with the 6 sp tremec... the new Z06 is coming out in an auto... if they don't find a way to do this, the sales are going to go C7... no doubt. The Viper is a better car than the C7, I've spent a good amount of time in both... but damn we are about to get left behind... |

I fully agree Kala......the old Viper purist kept demanding only a six-speed manual Tremec,,,but that has always kept sales down. I sold my Viper due to bad left knee pain, and shifting that 'beast' soon became 'no fun'. I waited many years for an auto Viper, which never materialized....so I bought the manual anyway. Loved the car, just not all of the shifting. If I was 30 years old, guess I would be saying different... I believe the automatic/computer controlled shift points are much faster and accurate than what any human right hand and left foot can produce...jmo Seems SRT isn't interested in increasing sales and profits? At $110K+,,,,right now,,I'd still buy a GT-R over a snake. |

This 2013 GTS is an amazing car... It doens't hurt my knee the way my Gen III did.. That part is much better.... The GT-R and the C7 have nothing on this car... It's awesome. Today I'm going over to Magnuson SC to see the results from the dyno on the kit they made on my buddy John's C7. He hasn't had his car for at least 1.5 months while they mock up this kit. It's supposed to have 600 hp... We'll see |

Just got back from Magnuson Superchargers... really interesting to see the development of this new kit for the C7... I have watched for the last 5-6 weeks as they put it together, started with a baseline dyno... Then 3D printed a totally new SC housing on the car, checked for clearance, ran fuel lines... its been an amazing process... They are so meticulous. They tell me we will have a day at the airport or maybe even Fontana to check it out... I wish they had one for the GTS.... LOL 640 cant be enough can it??? |
