A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country. ~~~ Well, there's a very simple answer. ~~~ Nobody bothered to check the oil. ~~~ We just didn't know we were getting low. ~~~ The reason for that is purely geographical. ~~~ Our OIL is located in ~~~ ALASKA ~~~ California ~~~ Coastal Florida ~~~ Coastal Louisiana ~~~ Kansas ~~~ Oklahoma ~~~ Pennsylvania and Texas ~~~ Our DIPSTICKS are located in Washington, DC!!! Any Questions??? ..... Didn't think So. |

Hi Dan, that picture was shot by our own John Collins, from a helicopter owned by another Prowler owner, Michael Pond. John (onecatnodog) is the current event planner for the Colorado Mile-High Prowler Club. He shot several pictures, and I believe some video, from the chopper. Might be a World's Record for the number of Prowlers on a suspended bridge? It was awesome being at that event, and during that photo shoot. Bridge was sagging and swaying,,,,,,,,the entire time
Of course the polls did show Hillary beating Sanders handily in Mich. (Sanders won that primary) Makes you wonder WHO they poll. I have never been polled and know no one who ever has been polled. Me either Ed,,,,never polled. Who are these people? Must be the 2% who always answer > Undecided?

quote: Not to be nitpicking, is it really CanYon City, or Canon City ? I thought it was Canon City. They had a choice between a college and a jail and took the jail since they figured it would be attended more regularly. I didn't double check in an atlas. I haven't been there for a few years and I am getting old so it might be Canyon or it could be a diff. town. |

Ed > thanks for catching that mistake on my part > my bad! It is Canon City, Colorado...... I type at nearly 90 wpm, and sometimes my fingers aren't as smart as I am, lol. You'll also remember back in 2003,,,,I made the mistake of calling the Smoky Mountain event,,,,the Smokey Mountains. That was me being stupid,,,which happens quite often!

Actually I wasn't positive about it. I couldn't think of the name of the city and when I saw it referred to as Canyon city by OneCatNoDog on his post I got to thinking about it. Then I just read this thread and saw it again. I think 99 % of the folks would spell it Smokey, that looks right compared to Smoky. |

I'm reminded of the time little Catherine, the daughter of friends, told me she wanted to be President one day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there with us. I asked Catherine - 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?' Catherine replied - 'I would give houses to all the homeless people.' 'Wow - what a worthy goal you have there, Catherine.' I told her, 'You don't have to wait until you're President to do that, you can come over to my house and clean up all the dog poop in the back yard and I will pay you $5 dollars. Then we can go over to the grocery store where that homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $5 dollars to use for a house.' Catherine (who was about 4) thought that over for a second, while her mom looked at me seething, and Catherine replied, 'why doesn't the homeless guy come over and clean up the dog poop and you can pay him the $5? Welcome to the Republican Party. |

Sasquatch, it turns out that Canon City is pronounced Canyon City since it has the ~ over it. I guess it is Spanish. I never heard anyone pronounce it and only read the name of it on the way thru town. I guess Ebonics works. lol |

quote: That is one beautiful girl! (And the rottie ain't too bad either.) LOL. really... that is a great looking dog Kala! What's she weigh? (Looks big enough to be a male?) I sure miss mine. Wish I could get one like that from you. There is a pending (3rd attempt) to ban rotts (as a breed) in my county, and having one before it passes wouldn't grandfather you in. The atty fighting it said they don't think they will be successful in fighting it this time. You would have to sell the dog, or move. I'm betting they would allow the police to keep theirs in the county tho... so... hmmmm... it can't be the breed they are wanting to ban then, could it?
