AC, that accident was not 180 mph... it was a street race in Texarcana. I knew the guy from the National forum.
He was a young DR, married with 2 young children. The ONLY reason I am giving this info is to give this message... STREET RACING RUINS LIFES! This mans family and future was torn apart from a bad judgment call that happened in a few minutes in the early morning. Please please please... Don't ever street race. The above photos are an example of what can happen. Wanna race someone? Take it to the track. Where you have a more controlled environment than the streets can provide. It's too late for my friend. Don't let it be too late for for anyone you know or love... |

Amen to that. NHRA was formed to take drag racing off the street. In recent years there has been a noted increase in street racing. Today's cars are way too fast to take a chance on the street. I've driven many Vipers a lot of times on the street and on various race tracks. I'm a pretty good high performance driver and I respect Viper. They're so fast and powerful (torque) that they can even bite a good driver. Love the picture of Wayne's Coupe. I believe I took that one the day he took delivery before I trailered it to Toronto. He was going to drive it home via 402 and 401! |

AC, 402 and 401 are the major Interstate type roads from SE Michigan to Toronto. They have some of the heaviest truck traffic to be found anywhere. The roads are a challenge and debris is an issue. The car has adjustable ride height but is very close to the ground. The concern over road rash on the show quality paint caused the necessity to call 911 for the build team after multiple heart failures. Remember, this car is all carbon fiber. It looks like a Viper but is three inches wider and ten inches longer. The car is street drivable but the risk to simply transport it to its final destination wasn't worth the risk. Besides I got some quality time with an absolute prince of a guy! The car has the closet thing to race tires that I've ever seen with a DOT rating. The tire manufacturer told that there was so little tread to not consider cutting them. |

Sorry, Wayne took it for a short ride before we loaded it but I don't believe that he smoked 'em. Even with the adjustable ride height all the way up, I had to raise the tongue of the trailer as much as possible to load it on my trailer which has long ramps and a dovetail. It barely cleared! |

Thomas Jefferson knew because he-himself studied the previous failed attempts at government. He understood actual history, the nature of God, his laws and the nature of man . That happens to be waaay more than what most understand today. Jefferson really knew his stuff. A voice from the past to lead us in the future: John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the white House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time.. He made this statement:" This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone." When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe , we shall become as corrupt as Europe . The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world. I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government. No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: |

The garage lift has longer ramps to make is safer for the Prowlers. The Viper caused quite a stir on the Viper board when the project was just starting. Someone posted a picture of the car at the suspension shop in the full down position. They speculated that someone was building a low rider or something and they weren't very kind in their comments. Developing the adjustable ride height made completing the project much easier. Instead of building the car to the ride height and attitude, we built the car and within a few minutes adjusted the ride height and attitude to the car. The added bonus was helping load the car plus it can be displayed at one height and attitude and immediately adjusted to a height that can be safely driven. Because this was all prototype work it wasn't cheap but any other Viper owner could replicate the suspension for a lot less because the original work has been done. |

quote: Yup the National forum can be harsh at times... Not as harsh as the Alley... But its not kindergarten over there. I'm currently making some huge changes in my life. So the timing is not right for me... BUT when I am, can I contact you about the ride height suspension? A friend of mine in the UK made a comp vert that is very appealing to me. I have sourced a paxton vert that would be perfect for the transformation. I'm planning on putting a sequential in it with paddles. Adjustable ride height would be sweet! How does Waynes car ride? similar to stock? Better? Worse? Any chance you remember any keywords from the suspension thread? I'd kinda like to see the photos... |
