1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10.. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive
for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that
I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this -- ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and
goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to
that?

19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well..

20. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites OR Budweiser than
Kay.

Geno...

1 and 20 are great

_________________________________________________________

Why do people like feel the need to come on a forum and pretend to be what they are not?
But then that would take a modicum of effort on your part coupled
He is,,,,in reality, probably this sick pathetic slob with no life and THIS is how they get satisfaction.
So essentially what you're saying is that it's okay to type pages of mindless drivel even though you don't know what is is you speak of,
_________________________________________________________

got to save this classic:

Actually the election for Presdident is gonna be REAL SOON. 2012 is right around the corner. I'm actually surprised that more people haven't gotten involved judging by the ENORMOUS amounts of negative posts on Obama, it would only make sense that you guys would have some viable candidates waiting in the wings, ready to go.
I am TRULY STUNNED that Sarah Palin's name even came up. Palin is attractive and the only guys that would vote for her are guys that basically wanna "bang her". She is an AVOWED IDIOT. One needs to go no further than view her past interviews in which she couldn't get past the most basic of questions which is why she was skewered so happily on "Saturday Night Live". Palin is a quitter ON RECORD. She quit as a governor when she was faced with adversity and she even quit on her own TV show. Nixon quit too and we all remember that!! Palin reminds me of the presidential candidate in the old Frank Sinatra movie "The Manchurian Candidate". Watch the movie and you'll see just what I mean.
Palin was the dynamite that finally broke the camel. McCain was too old and everybody could see that Palin was a bimbo of the highest stature. Could anybody even picture Palin with her "hand on the trigger"??? Many people could, which is one of the reasons the Republicans lost. If McCain was about ten years younger, he probably would be president now. Even despite Palin.

I don't know anything about Rubio but if the reason that A/C gives for him NOT RUNNING, MAKES NO SENSE. Even to a reasonable man. Those are the very reasons HE SHOULD BE RUNNING FOR OFFICE. He should be willing to step in and change the system.

"Hawaiian"s answer is simplistic, stupid and pretty much the same bitchin' and moanin' that has gone on this site for the last four years. ANYBODY can bitch and moan. Its almost a ritual here. I wanted the "opposition" to present the class with alternatives to the present.
But judging by the short list above the answer is not as easy as it sounds. The truth of the matter is that the Republican party is in serous disarray. There has been vast internal fighting with the members, constant sexual scandals (one guy resigned this week) and troubles with the leadership of Michael Steele.
And while all of this has been going on Obama has been quietly and coolly makin' moves. For those who don't know, Chicago has always been a stronghold for the Democrats and has been very instrumental in the elections of Kennedy, Clinton and Obama. That said, Rahm Emanuel recently resigned from the Obama cabinet and now he's running for mayor of Chicago since Boss Daley decided to step down. Emanuel has the blessings of Clinton (who campaigned for him here and is featured in ads) and Obama (who can't campaign but is featured in ads). With all the money in the world behind him and strong politcal backing (come on - a SITTING PRESIDENT and a FORMER PRESIDENT??) he is so far the clear runaway choice. The polls show this. The only way he can lose at this time is if someone pulls out a "smoking gun" picture with him sexually assualting some blind girl in a barn!!
And when he wins, he will show his support for the Democratic organization by delivering Chicago AGAIN to Obama. And that's politics!!

Obama is the sitting president and its gonna be hard to beat him if we go by the short list from above.
But all is not over, come on guys and put those thinking caps on!!!
WHERE/WHO ARE THE REAL REPUBLICAN CHALLENGERS OUT THERE??

Dear Mom,

Our Scoutmaster told us to write to our parents in case you saw the flood on TV and got worried. We are okay. Only one of our tents and 2 sleeping bags got washed away. Luckily, none of us got drowned because we were all up on the mountain looking for Adam when it happened.

Oh yeah, would you call Adam's mother and tell her he is okay. He can't write because of the cast. I got to ride in one of the search and rescue Jeeps. It was great. We never would have found Adam in the dark if it hadn't been for the lightning.

Scoutmaster Ted got mad at Adam for going on a hike alone without telling anyone. Adam said he did tell him, but it was during the fire so he probably didn't hear him. Did you know that if you put gas on a fire, the gas will blow up? The wet wood didn't burn, but one of the tents did and also some of our clothes. Matthew is going to look weird until his hair grows back.

We will be home on Saturday if Scoutmaster Ted gets the bus fixed. It wasn't his fault about the crash. The brakes worked okay when we left. Scoutmaster Ted said that with a bus that old, you have to expect something to break down. That's probably why he can't get insurance. We think it's a super bus, though. He doesn't care if we get it dirty, and if it's hot, sometimes he lets us ride on the bumpers. It gets pretty hot with 45 people in a bus made for 24. He let us take turns riding in the trailer until the policeman stopped and talked to us.

Scoutmaster Ted is a neat guy. Don't worry, he is a good driver. In fact, he is teaching Horace how to drive on the mountain roads where there aren't any cops. All we ever see up there are huge logging trucks.

This morning all of the guys were diving off the rocks and swimming out to the rapids. Scoutmaster Ted wouldn't let me because I can't swim, and Adam was afraid he would sink because of his cast (it's concrete because we didn't have any plaster), so he let us take the canoe out. It was great. You can still see some of the trees under the water from the flood.

Scoutmaster Ted isn't crabby like some scoutmasters. He didn't even get mad about the life jackets. He has to spend a lot of time working on the bus so we are trying not to cause him any trouble.

Guess what? We have all passed our first aid merit badges. When Andrew dived into the lake and cut his arm, we all got to see how a tourniquet works.

Steve and I threw up, but Scoutmaster Ted said it was probably just food poisoning from the left-over chicken. He said they got sick that way with food they ate in prison. I'm so glad he got out and became our scoutmaster. He said he sure figured out how to get things done better while he was doing his time. By the way, what is a pedal-file?

I have to go now. We are going to town to post our letters and buy some more beer and ammo. Don't worry about anything. We are fine and tonight it's my turn to sleep in the Scoutmaster's tent.

Your son,

Billy

In a year filled with memorable quotes, this has got to be one of the best that is being sent around.

"As an American, I am not so shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name. America gave him the White House based on the same credentials."

Newt Gingrich

Interference in a For Sale thread:

If you don’t like the price or item being offered in "for sale thread", take it to e-mail or PMs. Better still, just move on to a thread that is offering something you like the price on.

If you post a criticism of the price or the quality of the item being offered, YOU ARE IN THE WAY.

If you post your own for sale items to the for sale thread started by someone else, YOU ARE IN THE WAY! . Start your own thread, rather than jumping into the thread of someone else.

If your contribution to a "for sale thread" does not advance the sale, you are in the way!

Public Housing

The problem with public housing is that the residents are not the owners.
The people that live in the house did not earn the house, but were loaned the property from the true owners, the taxpayers. Because of this, the residents do not have the "pride of ownership" that comes with the hard work necessary. In fact, the opposite happens and the residents resent their benefactors because the very house is a constant reminder that they themselves did not earn the right to live in the house. They do not appreciate the value of the property and see no need to maintain or respect it in any way.

The result is the same whether you are talking about a studio apartment or a magnificent mansion full of priceless antiques. If the people who live there do not feel they earned the privilege, they will make this known through their actions. The picture below illustrates the point.

The Resolute Desk was built from the timbers of the HMS Resolute
and was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes.
It is considered a national treasure and icon of the presidency.

Mr. Obama, with all due respect, get your @*#&@#& feet off our desk!
