I have one just like it right next to the house. My neighbor has one also, so far if you don't bother them, they don't bother you. I cut the grass right beside it with no problem. We had one a couple years ago, it is amazing how big they build it. When they finally left, it fell apart like like thin paper.

I see them all the time but it still always amazes me how big they get.

We have a hornet's nest in a crab apple tree in the back yard. Bigger than a football, not quite as big as a basketball. It is unbelievable how many hornets come in and out in one minutes time. They are busy, for sure.

For some reason this year has been the most bees nests I have ever seen. Got stung at least a couple dozen times. Cases of bee spray.

First, I use WD-40 or PB Blaster,,,

Not sure if it was fresh water originally, but I presume it is salt water now.
