Will, got a diagnosis I didn't want or see coming about 8 weeks ago. Not a death sentence, but when you hear the "C" word and they are talking about you, it gets you thinking. Or buying another car. So, I have not posted this until it was home. And tonight, it is. I bought Hookers car and all his super cool additions, parts and memorabilia. I visited his place at least 3 times. The pictures do not do this car justice. When I visited, I was amazed how well all the additions work, from the weird Z28 side panels custom made, to the KatMat trunk that is super cool, the Tom Mills pieces etc. Andria did a nice job of describing this, but I will tell you, I was there about 30 minutes and I was still finding things done to this car that were not listed in that ad. Highly coveted Chrome Head Rest Hoops ? yep. Obi-Ones Chrome Tach ? Check. Jays shimmers, yep. Convertible top trim kit? Yep! Larry Lord Everything, Wonder Bar etc. Amazing. Did I drive it before I bought it ? Nope. Didn't need to. Anyone who polishes their Custom Exhaust so It looks like Chrome (I am not kidding), probably takes pretty good care of their car. Larry Lord Trailer Stand ? Sure. But painted the color of the car, and then the tips that insert into the receiver on the trailer, hand polished to a mirror like finish so they insert easily ? yep. Hookers is meticulous and the car is unbelievable. I could go on about all the custom stuff, So I found a way to raise the cash and bought this thing, which leads me to this. Something will have to go. Actually, many of them should go and I'll be posting and putting some, possibly many of my cars for sale. Just don't know which ones. Have chatted a bunch with Shelley and we both agree, my recent health situation is a wakeup call. She would not know what to do if or when I pass with all the cars and all the collectable parts I have. And she would keep probably zero of them. I'll try my best to decide which ones in the very near future. The Firebirds I have, The Prowlers, and the Viper I think are all money makers in the future. Could be wrong and as Ed accurately says, these things should not be investments. But Some of them I have, IMO are. Insurance, maintenance and storage eat into all of that. I'll consider everything when making those decisions soon. But this was a car I simply could not have imagined just how amazing it was. Thanks to Andrea and to George for helping me afford this and for helping me make this decision and getting it home. It drive and performed beautifully. The headers are beautiful and with the Borla exhaust, sound amazing. Was a pleasurable 303 mile drive! Thanks all, John This message has been edited by Stray Cat on 04-14-2024 at 08:35 PM |

Wow John, looks like you hit the Prowler Lottery. Thats the car that everyone wishes they had & with all those extra parts. I was telling Joyce about you & Shelley. I told we had met at one of the Prowler functions. She was trying to remember & I said you were the one with the very attractive wife. She said oh I remember her. She’s the one with the very handsome husband. Well John , at the next function tell Shelley not to wonder too far away from you. I’ll try to keep her under control. Good luck on your cancer treatment. We all will praying for your speedy health recovery. I have no doubts you will come through this with flying colors. |

Thanks very much all for the kind words. Ed, I think its the other way around. I believe I still trail you by a good amount now. But I think we both now have some of the rarest options - the Katmat trunk which is actually very nice and high Quality from what I can tell. Another take on a trunk that can open with the hard top on. Pretty cool. Spoke with Matt today, someone should build more of these but no ide of material costs in 2024. Its a unique piece for sure. Dick, thank you. No idea why or how I am so blessed to have Shelley as wife and best pal. I am truly blessed. She is still a beautiful woman and most importantly, a beautiful person. Her personality and who she is never ceases to amaze me. She is my hero in so many ways. I'll figure all the car stuff out, but Gary is right, I got so many thumbs up and one woman hanging out of her car at 70 MPH taking pics and giving me thumbs up. These cars have to be some of the coolest ever made. Period. I love that article from a year or two ago , "this was not a dream". Great stuff. I'll go through everything and figure out what to sell, what to keep, etc. Thank you John |

Hello, Sorry for what happened to you, and I sincerely hope that everything goes well. Faced with adversity, it is a constant battle: you have to fight and believe in it always and again. That's what I told my patients, you have to fight and do everything to make it work. Congratulations on your new acquisition, it’s a beautiful set Take care of you |

John, sorry to hear about your health concerns. Praying for all the best for you. Congratulations on the silver Kat. What a beautiful car with many rare aftermarket accessories. Now the hard part is deciding which one to take to the next event. I’ve always wanted a second Prowler but at my age it’s no longer practical. Our oldest son gets our Prowler either when I can no longer drive it or when I pass, whichever comes first. He’s currently 55. I was 53 when we bought the Prowler new 25 years ago. Deciding which cars in your collection to part with must be extremely difficult. I don’t envy you that decision. So many of us within the Prowler family are extremely blessed to have such amazing spouses. This message has been edited by BeWare on 04-17-2024 at 10:27 AM |

Prayers for you John. Keep the right attitude, they can do wonders now and you can beat it. It's been a rough 6 months here too, but the last of 4 surgeries was completed April 2, and stiches came out yesterday. Some knarly scars, but I am free. |

Thanks again to all of you. Always appreciate the prayers and thoughts. WRT cars, I have had a blast. I wont suffer owning "just 2 or 3, or 4 to 6. Or even just one. " I am gonna get everything out this weekend, look at what I owe, which ones I own, costs, fun factor, miles, etc, etc. Some of them I have done A LOT to and it will be tough. Or maybe I keep those. I'll figure it out. I just need an Orange Hemi powered Prowler to round out the Prowler Collection..... :-) John |

Thank you so very much - Jim, I will keep you in my prayers as well. I guess no one gets through life without some kind of health issue do we ? Even if you take great care of yourself. My 80 year old sister going through a lot and she was always very healthy, exercised, ate properly etc. Just had a consult with a second Dr. who is recommending an entirely different approach here so will get a third opinion now. Ugh. John |

Jay's shimmers were offered years ago. They were really cool. From bumper inserts to engine to interior, radio etc. On this car, it has the steering wheel chrome prowler( someone let me know if this is in fact Jays) and the shimmers on the engine. See pics. The engine ones I'm almost sure those were Jays. I'll post pics of the top covers tomorrow. Got to put a top down to show how they finish off the top when it is down. This is a pic of one off the car. They go over the corners when the top is down, kind of like a mini convertable boot. |
