I looked around at our Texas Painted Church cruise a few weeks ago and even though there were only 10 cars we had such a diverse group. This car, the Prowler, has enabled people of of kinds to come together. We had Hispanics, Blacks, Whites, young people, people in their 70's, Conservatives, Liberals, people form several religions, rich and not so rich, new owners and long time owners.....and we all shared the same routes, same restaurants, and touring historic sites together.

I am really excited to see the reaction of some of the newer Prowler Owners, when they see for the first time, several dozen Prowlers lined up for a cruise together. Making new friends, picking up where we left off with friends from the past and sitting in the parking lot at the hotel talking and telling stories with enthusiastic embellishments are things I am looking forward to as well.

I think there will be 80 or more. There was no big event this year so folks are ready to party a little. I hope some of the really new folks sign up for this one. That is the best way to see all the mods that you can't afford to make, but will make anyway. lol
I just got notified my Discover Card got hacked again so I hope my hotel reservation went through before they shut me down for the 3rd or 4th time. The gas station skimmers are a big deal here. What a pain in the butt.

The middle paragraph completely describes my Swapmeet business (which Joe can attest)...Everybody seems happy !!
Last paragraph describes my wife and I last year at Crossville and why we are looking forward to San Marcos...half that list we have met but really want to meet the others....jim

Reading your quote I see one word that does not belong and one word not spelled correctly even though I know how to spell it!
Even with my typing errors the message is the important part....the Prowler is something special. Maybe there are other car groups like it out there and we just have not found it. We have enjoyed a few times with the SSR, Corvette, Camaro and Viper groups but none of them have matched the friendships we have made particularly attending Prowler events.

Is this the name of the event? LONESTAR PROWLER ROUNDUP 2020? Looks like many suggestions but not much voting.

I have received a couple of messages asking about the event. Please note as it states on the event post that the schedule of activities is tentative. We have a core group of planners that are working on some ideas and waiting on responses from some possible venues we might want to visit. We are trying to remain flexible in timing and need to get a yes or no from two destination places to then determine which events will be scheduled for each day. Some of the possible places we want to visit along a couple of the routes are closed on certain days or have limited hours daily and this complicates the planning. We had two groups out over the past weekend trial driving 2 possible routes. One of the routes ends up being too long to include stops to view points of interest along the way so adjustments will be made. The second route will now have "options" at the end of the route so people can choose where they what they to visit.

We are striving to have fairly solid schedule together by the end of August. Note that there has been some interest in some people staying over until Sunday April 26 so we will plan an optional Saturday cruise for Sat 4/25. Those that may want to stay will need to add Sat 4/25 night to your hotel reservation.

I'm considering of putting this event on my 2020 planner,,,as long as this guy

and 'Stars & Stripes' PAULEY are NOT leading any cruises out to the Texas wilderness areas...

The Colorado Mile-High Prowler club always seems to travel well to events, so maybe they could bring 20+ cars to the Texas event?

Ed, if you leave Tuesday to drive to Phoenix area you won't get back until Thursday so AC will probably time his visit to Texas those 2 days!

Larry....we have not heard anything from the Colorado crew yet, however a couple of them attended an event we had in the Hill Country back in 2013! Hopefully a few of them to join us next April.

That was really a fun spot. We sat and talked to the locals for a "spell" and it was quite entertaining. A guy my age said he had only been in 3 states, TN. GA. and IN. in his entire life. He counted GA twice since he went to Atlanta for the first and last time. He went to IN to see his brother when his sister in law left him. I asked if it was to celebrate. Can you get to IN without going through KY? Another guy claimed he carved the Indian statues. I very politely told him he was full of crap and another local couple laughed and shook their heads, "yes". They sold fried bologna sandwiches there and it was fairly crowded in the dining section, both tables were full. lol

We have lived in San Antonio for over 11 years and have seen snow flurries once and they did not stick to the streets or sidewalks. In April at time of he event average high temps are 83 and low temps are 61.

We used a hood at the 10th anniversary party for all participants to sign. There was a deck lid for the 20th anniversary party. Those that attended the 20th were looking for where they signed during the 10th anniversary along with comments remembering those friends that we've lost. If you happen to be in the area, fellow members are welcome to give a call and stop by to view the record of who was there.
