Brian, I had a belt drive opener years ago and the wear was way too much and it failed early. I have never had the screw type, but my chain type works well. Also I live in a cold winter climate and that may have contributed to the belt drive's demise. Richard |

I think ours broke because it hit bottom too hard. It should have been adjusted but I never gave it a thought. Mine closes very gently now. Don't get me started on plumbing projects. P.S. the guy next door is hinting he wants me to take down his Bradford Pear tree. He is going to have to hint really a lot. Too hot for cutting down trees. |

I'm having the same problems with my positive battery cable as in this post. Several years ago I had the rubbed mark on the side of the cable and it was shortened and a new end was put on, the type that you have to tighten down the clamps. Now I am noticing that the clamps keep getting loose and now it doesn't want to start all of the time unless I pop the hood and move the cable around. Guess I had better get to a shop and get the cable soldered onto the clamp. I also need to get it in the air and run down the entire cable to make sure it's not rubbing anywhere else. Wish this would have been taken care of by Chrysler when it was under warranty and then extended warranty. |

Mine was rubbing and worn on my 2001...thanks for the heads up. Just used some electrical tape until I come up with a permanent fix. Wish I could find a dealer that knew prowlers. I had my oil changed over the weekend at a Plano dealer...left the lot and noticed a really hard ride, clowns had inflated the tires to 45psi (should be 28).
