No, it's the one on the bus.

Before spending the $1000-2000 to replace the entire wiring harness, I would consider using a wiring terminal block (like ones used in housing wiring) to splice a new cable to the one connected to the harness. Then cover with a shrink wrap insulation. It would be safe, functional and less expensive. Keep it mind should you get into this situation.

when you put the 75 red top in did you notice more movement of the battery??? If so how did you stop it or did you??? My 75 wiggles back and forth a little.

Thanks.

No, no movement at all. When this post came out, I rechecked mine and it's still perfectly tight from when I installed it. (BTW, there's also no problem of rubbing of the cable - I positioned it at a 45-degree angle to get maximum clearance when I replaced it, but there's no evidence of rubbing even from the factory).

Take a look at the post I referenced earlier: http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001479.html
It includes:
No modifications were required, but there was one more trick that might be helpful:
The bottom lip on the rear of the Optima is tapered and you have to force it under the rear fixed holddown. I pushed the bottom of the battery rearward to force the taper into the recess using a prybar. After that I also pushed back on the front metal holddown with the prybar as I tightened the nut. I just checked, and the battery has stayed tight.

Also in that thread I mention Lou's Battery Acid Neutralizer - it works better than Baking Soda and leaves a protective coating.

Let us know how you make out tightening the hold-down.

AC,
You are right 1,000+ hits means a lot of people are being informed. That is what is nice about this site!
What about the Kat owners who never see this site and will get taken by the dealer when it is repaired out of warranty?
Believe it or not the dealer still thinks it was my fault and that I was lying to them!

It's the end of the world, I tell ya. I use to respect Dale B but now he is agreeing with A/C. lol
Just checked both cars. Both are rubbing. 50,000 miles looks the same as 10,500. Both will be adjusted tomorrow.
Thanks guys. Pictures are worth at least 1,000 words.
POA-Priceless.
My neighbor had the TCM go out on his red 99 and he keeps losing his charge and is on his second or third battery with less than 10,000 miles. I will bet the farm his battery is discharging thru the hole in the cable, very slowly. The TCM problems started after he got a dead battery.
Thanks guys.

Update. The 99 looked to have the same amount of wear as the 2002. Here is what I discovered.
If you take off the battery terminals after 6 1/2 years you will undoubtedly break both bolts since they are rusted badly. Also your hood shocks are shot and the hood will hit you in the head. I had a great day.
Thanks again. I put electrical tape on both of them and moved them slightly.

A/C. I was using the string trimmer and it ran out of string.
I changed oil in the Candy, spilled some and went to use gas to dilute it and clean up. No gas.
The guy next door watered our plants and fed the cat. The garage door opener was broken. I took it apart tonight. The gear is shattered.
He wanted to cut the grass and HIS lawn mower won't start so I was trying to fix that.
I checked both cats and put tape on them and broke both bolts on the 99 and then the hood slammed down. This was all today, Monday. Everything I touched turned into an ordeal.

Checked my friends 99 today with only 12,000 miles and their was a little rubbing. I repositioned the cable and wrapped the spot with some rubber hose and taped it with black electrial tape.

A/C. Decided to go to a small cruise-in nearby tonight. Maybe put a FOR SALE sign on the 99. As we hit the driveway curb the car died. I checked and the positive cable came off. I stuck it back on and pulled on it and it would not come back off. I decided it was not the time to put the FOR SALE sign on it. We drove thru and came home. I need to put some type of shim in it so it stays tight.

I went to Sears today and bought the gear for the garage door opener. I couldn't do it yestereday. (Golf took precedence and it is Sandy's side of the garage) No rush.
I was told to make sure I use all the grease in the kit. That is what causes the teeth on the gears to break. I told her my teeth did not break, the entire gear split in half. "OH". I asked if they sell a lot of those gears. She said, "Tons". I got home. No grease in the kit.
I put one "spring pin" in the shaft, put the gear on and put the second spring pin in the hole and it fell thru. I got two diff. sized pins. I had to go to the hardware store to get another. It never ends.

Ed,
Thanks for the info on the screw type garage door openers. I was going to buy one but I think I may now go with the Genie belt driven. I think the belt is the quietest of all the types but I'm sure it still wears like the rest.

Well, I'll help this post digress into a garage door opener thread!

Try the Wayne Dalton wall mounted opener. Very Nice! No overhead drive mechanism. (I don't sell these or work for them!)

This wall mounted system should work great for those with limited garage space and want to put in a stacker for doubling car capacity.

Kevin-

Thanks a ton for posting about the wall mount opener.
I didn't know they even made them.

My garage is 18' tall and I was looking to run the channels longer on the wall to give me some additional clearance, but a wall mount is even better.
