Thanks. I agree with checking them out regularly. we have certified prowler tech here in a tulsa and I will have him check when doing regular maint work. Also have certified viper tech at same dealership. The Prowler tech told me he went thru training before production started.

You need to check on your order. That doesn’t sound right.

I believe Glen posted that after the first batch was sold, the next batch would be available in March. I couldn't find his post on this thread. Or at least that is what he told me when I ordered mine.

UPDATE: Found it, read first post in this thread. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/024624.html

Received this response 2/8/19 :

Hello Mark,

We are expecting the next run of Prowler Lower Ball Joints to be available at the end of March. I have a large list of back orders. The POA price is 10% off our online price of $89.95, which puts them at $80.96/each. If you would like to get some on order, let me know how many you like, and email me your billing address, shipping address, phone number, and I can then call you for your credit card info or email that to me. We just use card number, expiration, and billing address. No 3-digit security needed.

Thank you,

GLEN KNOWLES

According to Cat-A-Tonic, 65 is the correct torque for the upper ball joints (whereas the service manual had incorrectly noted it should be 95). However, for the lower ball joints, he notes the correct torque is 70.

Interesting. I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty and going thru my records, came across a Daimler Chrysler Safety Recall (F23) on the front lower ball joints. The problem listed is water may get into the ball joints causing them to corrode and separate. This recall applied to 2002 to 2006 model year. So it looks like DC ball joint design and manufacture was problematic for many years and at least 2 different vehicles.

There is two problems regarding our front lower ball joints. It seems the boot material breaks down rather easily. Can't take any long term twisting or stretching without splits and eventually major tears. The other problem is the application of them. Our front suspension is a hostile environment.

I kind of wish I had read the fine print a couple of years ago. I just discovered rust on mine yesterday. I was going to post my discovery but Vince warned me way back when. Getting old is not getting any easier.
