Like I said on the other post, would like to see a post all about what we are doing with our cars right now, this week. Current drives, mods, shows, maintenance, repairs or whatever. Just post what you did or plan on doing, no trashing, just sharing our hobby. If you don't like what you see or don't agree, move on to the next thread. Pics are worth a thousand words! |

Big cars are still stored away, still a little too wet and cold here. Have the go karts out replacing the engines and installing the chrome tip dual exhaust. Two have engines in, one to go. Hope to get the 2 bodies back on starting this week. Trimming the edges with black door edge guard. The fiberglass is kind of sharp and the U shape door trim I used last time with the adhesive inside did not hold up well in the last two Texas summers, so I found the same size L shape door trim with 3M tape, so I am cleaning up the old adhesive and installing that before I put the bodies back on. Purple and blue are first, then I will get to working on the Yellow Kart. |

Love the Kart mods. Rained last Sunday. Nasty looking days all week so far. Prowler has not left the garage this week. We took a long top down drive Sunday March 9th. |

Mailed my center caps and a front fender bracket to Dick Linneman for repairs today. Those that have broken center caps now would be a great time to get them repaired before the driving season gets here. I would hate to loose one of mine since it has Jay Harris Shimmers on each one and the center caps are pricey. Car was out for the Carl Casper show last weekend of feb and the next weekend @ Indy Cylinder Head Swap meet in Indy for the Indy Mopar Club display Been thinking about what wheels to use for new tires, getting the newer TPS and TPSM, and what type tires I want for it. SO DOES. THAT COUNT? ------------------ This message has been edited by WildCat on 03-19-2014 at 04:48 PM |

Thanks guys, Yea it does Larry. I think I have 5 caps that need fixin too. Also have an Air Patrol over at Don Ward's shop getting repaired and painted for the Mulholland. It's one I bought several years ago from Steve, the glass had come loose on one side and it was a color that I did not have a car to match! |

Wanted to dress up the engine compartment so I painted the engine support bars, high lighted the letters and numbers on the valve covers with shimmers, mounted the hood emblem on the radiator support brace and added a prowler decal. |

Chrome tips are 6 inch long 1 1/2 chrome sink downspouts from Lowes. All the rest is galvanized pipe from the plumbing department. Took a little figuring to get the lengths and angles, but I had it on the Purple with the Briggs engine for many years and it worked great. |

I wanted to dress up the rather bland interior of the Prowler. First, I installed a rare and hard to find Chrysler LHS chrome and leather gear shift knob which compliments the chrome shifter bezel rather nicely. Next, I mounted body colored fiberglass door panel inserts on both doors, added polished stainless steel plates on the air conditioning control panel, air conditioning vents on the dash, and door pull handles on both doors. Then I added a chrome shimmer around the radio control panel and a chrome Prowler cat shimmer on the steering wheel. Then I painted the power window switch covers, recessed door pull handles, aux. power plug cover, and high lighted the top of the cup holder with chrome paint. Lastly, to keep the 50s style hot rod look, I hung a set of gold dice on the rear view mirror. |

Put on the Black door edge guard on all the edges of the purple go kart today. The fiberglass is pretty sharp and kids have cut themselves before when at shows before I had the first type on. Plus it gives it a better finished look in my opinion. This is the newer L shape with the 3M tape instead of the U shape with the glue in the channel. Used alot more than I thought, so I didn't have enough to do the body of the Blue or Yellow, had to order some more. Mounted the Purple body and rear bumpers Still need to repaint the front bumpers after repairing some cracks. Paint match for the Big Purple bumpers is Duplicolor BGM0536 Gun Metal Gray. A perfect match. Need to put the hubcaps back on too, need to put the little black triangle stickers in first. The others were peeling. |
