I’m very fortunate and have access to a Lear 60 jet every now and then. You would think taking a private plane would be absolutely amazing right. Got the cats loaded up at 7 am for an 8 am take off. I’m not an airplane mechanic so may not be saying this correctly. The computer needed a quick update download. No big deal. They plugged the laptop in and for some strange reason ran the power out of the plane to another source. 75% of the download was complete and someone tripped on the power cable and BLANK we lost the download and now there’s an error code and warning lights when they try to get her going. So they try to fix it but no luck. Now it’s NOON the cats have been in the carriers for 5 hours and I am still in NY. Long story short they put us on another jet and we were here by 4 pm. The cats were beyond amazing. They’re all very happy now.

I’m not sure what’s what yet. Showed 1/4 tank when I tried to fuel it up it overflowed!!! Now showing 1/2-3/4. I have a Tom Mills fuel pump. Maybe there’s something with the sending unit? I have to fix it, I just can’t leave it I’ll lose my mind lol

Could it have something to do with the new fuel cap? Is this the first time you got gas since Prowler was finished?

No. The 1st time she was on fumes at the body shop and she took 9 gallons no problem. I drove it on a trailer and maybe 6 miles. I noticed the gauge on 1/4 tank yesterday and stopped for fuel to be safe. I hooked up the vent and actually used the factory fill hose and vent pipe. I’m going to yank the fuel pump this weekend and check the float.

Gas cap wasn’t sealed. Disconnected the negative, adjusted the cap and we’re golden!! Still have to check that fuel gauge issue tho. Thanks Gary.

Replace or clean up the negative ground for the battery. I replaced my crappy old cracked up one with 2’ of 2ga wire I got from Amazon for 13 bucks. It’s totally worth a shot. Factory wire is 4ga you can use that too. I’m running a yellow top optima so I figured I’d go a little heavier.

Had a blast yesterday. The car drew quite a crowd. I need to take a pic when she's out parked with other cars, looks really small and pretty cool. Actually thinking about selling her. I have my eye on a 66 Chevelle for sale locally here. What do you guy's think? Keep her or sell her?

After all that work????

I haver my thoughts, but that's for another post. I have a 1966 GTO. Long story. Painted Pontiac Copper Blaze Poly. Unique and very cool car. Pontiac Historical Services said the car doesn't exist. Never produced that color. Produced in KS, should be Tiger Gold. I produced proof, its orange! They had never seen one. Came back two weeks later, "well, you are correct. Copper Blaze Poly was actually a 1966 Chevelle Color. Aztec Bronze. Only a handful of them produced. Never seen one. I'll do another, longer post on this topic as it is gut wrenching for me, here in Dayton Ohio.

Don't sell it. JMHO. Have someone else drive it and watch it go down the road. I've followed Steves high boy. They just look awesome going down the road. Especially in the rain! Talk about rooster tails! haha.

There is still a lot of junk in my garage but I am slowly moving all that stuff into a 12 X 18 storage shed which I insulated and put a mini split in. Want the garage to just house my vehicles. Have another lift being delivered hopefully Monday.

Yeah, I’ve changed my mind. I’m going to keep it. I might put a more street able tire and wheel combo. The problem is the 20” rim in the back. I need a huge tire but a 325 series tire ain’t gonna work for me. The Mickeys are discontinued now and honestly they suck. No sidewall so unless they’re good and hot she just blows them off and dances around a bit. I’d love to run a 15” wheel but I’m not into dicing up the suspension to make em work. I don’t know where I am going to go with it but need to definitely put some different sneakers on her. I’m thinking about throwing the other set of wheels on her but I’m positive I’ll hate it. I’m not into running spacers so I’m definitely getting another set of wheels fabricated. I’m open for suggestions but the rears have to be at least 14-15” wide. We’ll see.

I’m no expert but I think the rotors are also too large to accommodate a 15”wheel. After all you went through I can’t believe that you even considered selling , especially so soon. But I’ guess I’ve seen others do similar.

I have built so many, I never get attached to any of them. If the right person comes along with the right number, she’s gone. I just think I need to spend more time in the car. We’ll see how it plays out. Going to Mercato Sunday for a pretty big event. All the cars parked along the street. I’ll definitely take pictures this time.

Not sure the offset but think Mike had 15” wheels on the back of his drag car

When I had my wheels out to be chromed found a 17 that I could put on to get it to paint shop

It looks cool as it is but can see the issues with them also

I run a 355/30-19 rear tire on 19x13" viper wheels. I had to have custom adapters made. If you have new wheels speced out, this is the way to go. There will always be someone out there making rear tires for vipers.

Car looks great man! Can I run an 18” wheel on the rear? Seen a 355 30-18 tire yesterday. I remember when you and I were having this exact same conversation in my father’s driveway lol thanks for the feedback Steve I do appreciate it. I just refuse to run any type of spacers in my car. Chassis and suspension configuration is my forte, no spacers anywhere. Running Viper wheels you have no choice, they’re 6 lug. I spoke with the guy who made my wheels, says 18” x 13 is no issue to fabricate. I can play around with backspacing to get a nice dish on the wheels. But can I run 18” on the rear? Other option is run my old wheels and cut up the rear 20” and make it a true 3 piece wheel. I can get inner and outer wheel halves from MHT or American racing and build any wheels I want. Thanks again guys I hope everyone has a great weekend and great Father’s Day as well.

Not really sure about 18"s. The 19's are fine. The car is currently in FL. I'm flying down July 1 to retrieve my wife. I'll stop at the garage and try to get some good pics and measurements.
