Zack made visits to the eight hotels which submitted proposals. Based on his feedback. I am please to say we have selected the Embassy Suites Hotel for our event hotel. They are drawing up and sending me an agreement. I will post all the details on making reservations as soon as soon as all the details are set. Rate $89 per night Plenty of reserved parking. Hotel has 240 rooms All rooms are two-room suites with either 1 king or two double beds in the bedroom. Pull out sofa bed in living room. Two phone lines and two TV's Kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker Full cooked to order complimentary breakfast each morning Complimentary Open Bar 4-6 PM each night Indoor Pool Guest laundry Cattleman's Steak House and Bar off the Lobby The Embassy Suites is right next to the interstate. Right turns out of the ES's parking lot, and also right turns on to the interstate. This should make it easy to move in a group. It's a 7-10 minute drive to downtown Tulsa for the unearthing event. We are arranging for reserved parking downtown at a reasonable rate. Attn: Chromer. Jack the Wonder Dog is welcome. $75.00 deposit. If Jack doesn't make a mess, and we know he won't. You get a full refund. (Special offer to our group) I have probably left some things out. Zack feel free to jump in with any additional information. Rich and Zack - great job,,,,,,this is going to be a super event Questions: When we make our reservations, do they bill our credit cards for the first night immediately, or just hold the numbers for a confirmation? After making a reservation, and for some unknown reason a person has to cancel out,,,,,is there a fee charged back to cancel the reservation? Will the Embassy Suites provide a garden hose and water outlet to wash our cars,,,,,,or is there a self-service car wash nearby?
" Pull out sofa bed in living room." - Snoman >> NO,,,,don't even ask |

Sounds great! If anyone makes another trip to Tulsa, try to nab a residential phone book. I need some numbers looked up of some friends from when I was about 5. Yes, they still live there. I was last there to visit about 5 years ago +/-, but don't have any contact numbers. Thanks in advance. |

Greetings all... I'm really excited about the upcoming event...and after visiting Tulsa I believe they have a lot to see and do! The hotels were all nice, but the Embassy Suites really blew the others away. It's the biggest discount off their regular room rate, up to 4 people can stay in one room, the kitchenette will allow you to prepare your own meals to save money if you like, and the FREE full breakfast bar and FREE drinks/appetizers EVERY DAY will be a big plus. The large open first floor will be great for a group meeting place, and hopefully we will take over at least half of the hotel's rooms. To answer a couple of questions, there WILL be an area for the car wash, we will have the entire south side of the parking lot for our cars. Many of the rooms face this parking lot. There is a nice hospitality room available to us daily with a large gathering area outside it. The pool is indoors, so weather will not bother it's use...and there is an outdoor area just off the pool for those who like to be in the sun. The sales manager promised to waive the pet deposit for Chromer and Jack...if others plan to bring pets they may have to pay the deposit. I think everyone will really enjoy this event. I plan to make a couple of weekend trips and hopefully involve some other local owners to plan out some cruise routes and get details about local attractions/parking. Here's the info about the burried Plymouth that someone asked about...pretty intersting reading... http://www.forwardlook.net/19571958Plymouth/countdown.asp This message has been edited by Zack on 01-04-2006 at 07:20 PM |
