Although Cruisin' the Coast is an open Event, everyone is welcome to cruise along with me. You may want to just do the parade on Wednesday and than do your own thing. This is really a fun event with different things that will attract and appeal to each of us differently. Don't feel obligated to follow me, just come on over and have a good time... Wednesday, Oct. 9th FYI: Main Street Biloxi Block Party 8:00 am to noon. Cruisin' the Coast Schedule: http://www.cruisinthecoast.com/Wednesday.shtml Thursday, Oct. 10th 5-6 p.m., Staging at Edgewater Mall (west side) for Beau Rivage Casino Official Thursday Night Event. FYI: 9:00 a.m. Cruisin' Time Starts All Cruisin' locations in Bay St. Louis (BSL), Gulfport (GPT), Edgewater Mall (Mall), Ocean Springs (OS) and D'Iberville (DIB). D'Iberville to distribute goody bags to the first 1,000 visiting its site. 11 a.m., 1 p.m. & 3 p.m. Cruisin' Venue Entertainment (bands TBA) All Cruisin' sites (BSL, GPT, Mall, DIB and OS). Cruisin' the Coast Schedule: http://www.cruisinthecoast.com/Thursday.shtml Friday, Oct. 11th FYI: All the Cruisin' activities along the coast continue, check the Cruisin' the Coast schedule. 11 a.m., 1 p.m. & 3 p.m. Cruisin' Venue Entertainment (bands TBA) All Cruisin' sites (BSL, GPT, Mall, DIB and OS). 7 & 9 p.m., Percy Sledge in Casino Magic Bay St. Louis Entertainment Complex (if I was going back to Bay St. Louis I would take in 9:00 PM show). Cruisin' the Coast Schedule: http://www.cruisinthecoast.com/Friday.shtml Saturday, Oct. 12th FYI: 11 a.m., 1 p.m. & 3 p.m. Cruisin' Venue Entertainment (bands TBA) All Cruisin' sites (BSL, GPT, Mall, DIB and OS). Cruisin' the Coast Drags at Gulfport Drag way gates open at 10:00 am, time trials 11:00 am, Eliminations 1:00 pm. Cruisin' the Coast Schedule http://www.cruisinthecoast.com/Saturday.shtml Sunday, Oct. 13th ..."Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler"...
Here's the current attendee list (as of 10/01/02 based on POA posts, emails or conversations with me) for Cruisin' the Coast (Oct. 9th to 13th) and the Prowler Drags (Oct. 11th). We have 19 rooms booked at Casion Magic in Bay St. Louis (list attached) and 15 rooms at the Holiday Inn in Gonzales for the Prowler Drags (list attached for Friday night the 11th). We still have the 30 rooms available in Gonzales until Oct. 1st (date has been extended) and the rate for POA is $59. We do have some of our CTC attendees staying at different Hotels along the MS Gulf Coast.
I've also posted this in the Event section under the Events. Cruisin' the Coast ... Http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000451.html Please email me if you have any questions or post under the Events section. Plans are in place for the the 2nd Annual Prowler Speed / Power Festival Weekend during the Crusin The Coast (CTC) weekend Oct. 7th to 13th 2002. While CTC has it own Drag Races at the Gulfport Raceway on Saturday, Oct. 12th, I would like to use No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, LA on Friday, October 11th for the Drags Races (it's a much better track & facility). I've arranged for the track to open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm just for Prowler test & tune & time trials. First round of Bracket racing would begin at 3:00 pm. We would have special class for Prowlers. Anyone interested in more racing could just participate in the evening races in the Street Classes which start at 6:00 pm along with the Tracks regular Friday night classes.
Another possibility is to have two classes. Mike Krehel & Jerry Gena will be there with The World's Two Fastest Prowlers. Jerry Gena (aka FMITBT; Current Fastest ET of 11.67) and Mike Krehel (2nd Fastest ET of 12.15) have both committed to be there with their latest modified Prowler. Both Mike & Jerry have some new tricks up their sleeves. In addition, I've spoken to three of the Prowler Performance Vendors. Dean with Prowler Pro (Twin Intakes), Rob Ida with Ida Automotive (Twin Turbo) & Bob Wyman with Paxton (Novi 1000 Supercharger System). They all are planning to be here themselves and / or have customers of theirs with the installed modifications here for the Prowler Power on the Louisiana Bayou. So, let me know if you're interested in making it to CTC or just come in for the Prowler Day at the Track. The track fee is $10 per person (that's either to race or be a spectator). Than we would have a Cash Pool of money for the Bracket Racing. Everyone puts up $10 to $25 or something (may vary by class - still thinking about this). The pool money goes to the winners (55% to winner; 25% to Runnerup; 10% to 3rd & 4th place finisher). The winners can keep the Cash or donate to their charity of choice. Here's the link to No Problem Raceway. All Pool Money goes to the Racers... Im also thinking of including a plantation tour of Oak Alley Plantation (20 miles from No Problem Raceway) on Friday for those that would like to have a side attraction while the guys & gals are running the Time Trials. Everyone could than meet at the track for the end of time trials & Bracket Racing. Here's the link to Oak Alley Plantation. I have made Hotel arrangements at the Holiday Inn in Gonzales, LA for those that would only attend the Prowler Drag Races... On Saturday, maybe both contingents of Prowlers could converge on Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis around 10 am to 11 am. We'd meet in the parking lot and from there we could participate in some cruisin the coast activities, watch all the other classic cars or just cruise along the other cars... The CTC Prowler owners could cruise from Bay St. Louis on Friday to No Problem Raceway & Oak Alley Plantation returning to Bay St. Louis on Friday night. It's approximately 135 miles from Bay St. Louis to NPR at Belle Rose, LA. The Drag Racing Prowler owners could cruise to Bay St. Louis on Saturday & return to Gonzales for Saturday night & depart back home on Sunday. Please email me or post if you're interested and I'll finalize plans.... laddie... Laddie, This is a bit of a cruze for me, but if my car proves reliable, I'm going to try and make this event to represent Ida Automotive with the twin turbos. The other Ida twin turbo Cat owned by a gent named Mac also comitted to this event. ------------------ |

Anyone making this event will not regret their trip. It will be well worth it.We had I think 15 or more prowlers last year, 3 vipers, plenty PTs and thousands of awesome rods. The events are outstanding as are the performers. Laddie always puts together at least one day of a great get together for everyone. This cruise is like going back into the 50s for five great days with about 50 miles of cruising with wall to wall hotrods or all kinds. People dressed like the 50s, the cruise in stops like ARNOLDS in the movie American Graffiti. It is truly one of a kind something you don't want to miss. ------------------ |

Just had a call from Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis. They said a few people making reservations had a problem & they are trying to straighten out their system. The Magic asked that when you call ask for: The Prowler Owner Association Group or use Reservation # PRO1009... Sorry for any inconvience, they said they are working to fix it... ------------------ |

Ed, Rich. Staying in Gonzales all four nights would be a pain if you wanted to do Cruisin the Coast on other days... If you're just going for the drags, Gonzales is the best place. You could make it to Cruisin the Coast on Saturday & drive back into Gonzales for Saturday night... Gulfport to Gonzales is 140 miles or so... There's lots of entertainment at night along the coast tied into CTC... I'm going to stay in Gonzales on Friday night to hang with those people that are just there for the Prowler Drags. And, I will lead the caravan back to Gulfport on Saturday morning... The Prowler Drags will be over by 5:00 pm... Now, some folks may decide to race again Friday night along with the Tracks normal Friday night Trophy Bracket racing... Casino Magic is sold out on Saturday night. There are still 20 rooms available under the POA for Saturday night... I had 30 rooms on hold for Wed. through Sat. nights with checkout on Sunday... Little over a week ago only two people had resevations in Gonzales. |

John - you and Dan and others from the West Coast ought to try to make this one. The drags will be fun and an all Prowler day, then Cruisin the Coast as I understand it is the South' version of Woodward Avenue Dreawm Cruise - thousands of cars of all kinds cruising the beachfront highway along miles of white sandy beach!! Happy Prowling Marty

I had no problem making reservations at both places. They knew who POA was - almost before I asked. I would suggest the drags be more competitive by making it strictly a bracket race with at least two time categories - the ones Laddie suggested look fine to me. |

Laddie no vacation left so I would have to come down for the drags only. While I would love to cruise the coast that will have to wait until next year. Wuit the Natinal Event being in Tenn next year I won;t have to burn all my vacation on one event as I did with CO. The drags are someting I really don't want to miss. Hope to be able to firm some thing up and make reservations this week. Is anyone doing an official video of the drags? |

Rich. Glad to see you making out to the Prowler Drags. I've been thinking about doing a video with the proceeds going to the POA site fund raiser... Here's what I need. Someone to donate their time to produce the video. Maybe a sponsor or two or three to cover the hard costs (ie... tapes, duplicating costs, etc...). I've had some discussions over the last four weeks. But, nothing worked out yet... |
