quote: Originally posted by idive: I have made many great friends thru this site and at meets and I cherish each and every one of them. Unfortunately, its my health that has prompted this. I found out in February that I have stage 4 esophogeal cancer. By that point, it was 10cm long and blocking most food passage. It had actually blown out the back of the esophohus and spread cancer along my back wall along my spine, to my lungs, my lymph nodes, my adrenals, possibly my stomache & liver. Due to the spread, my Dr. said that surgery or radiation wasn't an option. She put me on chemo that I was doing at home thru a pump in a fanny pack for 48 hrs every 2 weeks. After 4 treatments, another CT scan was done to see how we are doing. We found that the cancer is still growing. We changed chemo type and this new chemo will make me lose my hair. Its done in the office at MD Anderson for about 5 hrs every 2 weeks. The tumor is now pressing on my heart making me tire quickly and get short of breath. My BP is now low and they were reconsidering doing radiation but found that was not an option. A feeding tube is in the offering soon. I have gone from 175 in August to 123 now with a low of 118. I have fought the good fight but I'm losing the war. I didn't want to just disappear and not say anything to anyone. I will still continue to fight as long as I can. I have only had one of these new treatments and we won't know anything else for sure til we do another scan. I'll stop by as I can and post as I see fit, but I don't read all the posts like I use to. I want to thank all of you for your friendship and help on this site and at meets. I'm sure there are a couple I have pissed off over time and I'm sure they hold a grudge and will post negatively here. Just let them go. Someone will post back when I'm gone. Some of my items may go up for sale after that. May God bless you all. Please pray for a miracle for me. Prowl on!

I WILL HAVE A UPDATE IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS... HE WILL BE TRULY MISSED... ONECATNODOG

Marc Wilson Scarbeary of Littleton, Colorado died unexpectedly of a heart attack at age 62 on Sunday, March 1st, 2015 with his loving partner Heather Manning and his daughters by his side. He was born in Denver on July 29th, 1952. Marc's home was in the Denver area his whole life; but he lived his life in many places; among his family, with friends, out with fishing buddies, his Prowler car club members and fellow adventurers. A graduate of Cherry Creek High School in 1970, he was a successful entrepreneur and painting contractor. Marc defined his American Dream by the many lives he'd made better or impacted in a good way. Money wasn't his goal. It was about being able to help others to pursue their dreams. Marc always had story to tell. There was pure joy in his eyes talking about his latest outing with the grandchildren or an adventure just finished and perhaps the next one in planning. He would be soon heading off or just returning from a fishing trip with friends, the Iditarod in Alaska, his British Columbia adventure on Stuart Island or a Prowler car rally. HE REALLY LIVED and LOVED! Marc is survived by; Lynne Scarbeary, mother to his children; his two daughters, Claire Marlow of Casper; Brooke Clanton of Denver; and his three grandchildren Shy, Talula and Rig. Predeceased by his brother Stan, Marc is also survived by his brothers Donald, Richard, Robert and David. A celebration of Marc's life will be held Saturday, March 14th, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Hudson Gardens Inn, 6115 South Santa Fe Drive, Littleton. Published in Denver Post on Mar. 8, 2015 TRIBUTE TO MARC SCARBEARY Tribute my big brother - Marc Wilson Scarbeary, by David Scarbeary - his 'little bro' Marc was many things to many people so there is no way to capture his full essence here in this short tribute - but we'll try. He was a loving father, a playful grandfather, a kind and generous man. A loving partner and companion. An avid fisherman and adventurous spirit. A car guy that doted over his souped up Plymouth Prowler. An entrepreneur by his leadership gave others the chance to make a living and provide for their families and their own hobies and adventures too. There will be a gathering to celebrate Marc's life the afternoon of Saturday, March 14. Final location and time details to follow. This is from Claire (Marc’s daughter) from a video interview of Marc; This statement says so much about the man that he was.
(Marc), How would you define success? "For me, probably one of the biggest things is how many lives I’ve impacted, made better, or impacted in a good way. Whether it would be my kids, family, or anybody outside of that, employes, friends, friends of friends, neighbors. Success to me is really seeing the things I’ve done and do, impact people in a positive, beneficial way. Money it is not, for me, it was not the goal, it was being able to help others to pursue their dreams. Whatever you decide to do, own it, for good or bad. If you screw up, own it, don’t think you are or victim or blame somebody else. And don’t burn the bridges. That’s a huge thing, don’t burn bridges, because everything is about people. All of life, it’s about people, whether its strangers or family, it’s all about the people." Pic from POA...

Jan bought his purple 1999 Prowler in late 2001 as I recall, and was a regular AZ. Prowler Group and a POA member who contributed yearly donations to this website. Jan also helped out many Prowler owners with their problems, and was always ready to answer questions on the board and via PMs/emails/and telephone contact. Jan's suffering is now over, and I'm sure you will say a prayer for him that his soul can finally rest in peace. . . . Pic from POA - Mike Gatlin...
