E.K. Kesler
While most of you didn't know him because he was not on a home computer, our local Prowler friend, E.K. Kesler has passed away. E.K. first had a 1999 purple Prowler, and put on nearly 45,000 miles of smiles driving it all around the western United States and Canada. A few years back, E.K. got the opportunity to buy a red, very low mileage, 1999 Prowler, and decided to buy it and sell his purple Prowler. He started over, Prowling again with his second Prowler. E.K. also owned a orange, Chevy powered, 1953 Mercury 2 door hardtop, which he drove to the Scottsdale Pavilions on most saturdays. I believe that was his real pride and joy,,,,because he could relate to his school days in Idaho. After attending school in Idaho, E.K. spent many years living in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was a active member of the Las Vegas Corvette Club. His employment in Nevada was with the U.S. Government, in charge of dam maintenance of Hoover Dam, near Boulder City, until he semi-retired and moved to the Phoenix area. E.K. moved to the valley along with his friends Rick Cox and Jerry Pignolo [both former Prowler owners] in the late 80's I believe, and together they opened the Rent-A-Vette Corvette Rental store on Scottsdale Road, in Tempe, Arizona. Several years back, E.K. sold out his interest in the business and became fully retired. He loved to attend the local car shows, and drive his cars to the large car shows in southern California and Las Vegas every year. Two years ago or so, E.K.'s Mercury won him a best in class trophy at a big Las Vegas car show. On sundays, E.K. would go out for breakfast, and then travel to Falcon Field in Mesa, to watch the airplanes flying about. Other sundays,,,,he'd drive his Prowler to Payson, Az to enjoy the cool weather and mountain scenery of the Arizona landscape. His other interests were watching pro football and auto racing on television. E.K. will be missed by our local Prowler community and his close Arizona friends,,,,,,,,he was a really cool dude, loved to laugh, loved cars,,, and had a big heart. When I moved to AZ in June 2000, I immediately headed out to the Pavilions on my first Saturday night. Once again, I met E.K. along with the rest of the ‘gang’. I realized that my first impression was completely off base and there was absolutely no reason to fear or be intimidated by this guy. EK was the sweetest, gentlest man and was funnier than heck to hang out with. He knew a lot about cars and had great stories to share. He always watched out for me at the shows; always warned me about the low life guys to avoid. There was a time when a group of us went to a car show in Wickenburg, AZ. EK had another car – a big, beautiful, lowered orange Merc’. We entered the show, parked our cars, got our goody bags & t-shirts, set up our chairs and then it was time for breakfast. EK offered to drive to Denny’s so 7 of us piled into his car and there we went, scraping across the parking lot. I’m not sure which was louder – our hysterical laughter or the scraping on the pavement. Needless to say everyone saw his car and that must have helped because he won best of show that day. He beamed for weeks. My life changed for the better when I moved to AZ and E.K. will always be a part of that. Rest in peace, my friend.

posted 05-29-2008 09:21 PM Frank Tipton Frank was the greatest guy to the Prowler Community. I received this message from Jay today On 19 May 2008 a sad entry was recorded in Prowler History with the passing of Frank Tipton (Key Largo, FL) as he lost a valiant and lengthy battle with cancer. We will all miss him and his many, many contributions to the Prowler Community as host to many FUN, FUN, FUN Prowlin adventures. Frank was a real Cat Lover… First there was "Missy" the house cat… later she was joined by Silver and then Candy Red Prowlers… 3 Cats in all, a Cat Lover's Dream!!!

Jack Breevaart
The checks should be made out to "CSU, Chico Agriculture" and in the memo, put Jack Breevaart. You will receive a thank you from the development director of the Ag department, then after the first of the year you'll receive a receipt from the main development office for the campus that you can use for tax purposes. If you can find it in your hearts to contribute, please do Jack was a wonderful person and will be missed. For those that want to know what happened the car was in very bad shape. Jack slid into a Telephone pole sideways at about 50 to 60 miles per hour, it hit the car right at the drivers door and caved in the door about 18 inches. He knew nothing after that. Then the car flipped over on to its roof (backwards) and the pole fell on top of the car. The funny thing is there is no damage to the engine hood or either front wheel covers. Jack was an x-race driver and it is hard to believe something like that could have happend to him. Know your car, drive safely, and let's help Jack satisfy one of his wishes and contribute to his scholarship. |

Douglass W. Crandell
Douglas W. Crandell +++++++++ From Prowler owner/friend Charles Williams: "I just received a phone call from Doug Crandell's brother. Doug passed away on November 19 and his services will be held today in Hayward CA. Sorry for the late notice. Please keep Doug's family in your prayers. We will always remember Doug and his Inca Gold prowler. He loved his prowler so much, he bought two in the same color." +++++++ I remember Doug as easy going, free spirited with an overall friendly personality. He was the unofficial photo guy in many of the NorCal runs. May he rest in eternal peace. He is pictured at: http://www.prowleronline.com/scrapbook/neweventview.php?id=403 Rest in Peace Brother Douglas W. Crandell We all are glad the Prowler put a smile on Doug's face, and joy into his life..... This message has been edited by Laddie Roussel on 06-17-2011 at 07:27 PM |

Sue Kesler, Pocatello, Idaho, has passed away and our Prowler community has lost another owner. Sue took possession of her red 1999 Prowler in 2006, when her brother 'E.K.' Kesler (AZ) passed away. E.K. wanted his Prowler to be handed down to a family member, and Sue wanted to keep the memory of her brother with her through life. Sue had said she really enjoyed taking the red Prowler out for weekly 'spin' when weather permitted. Along with the Arizona Prowler owners and friends that knew Sue, please keep her and the Kesler family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you. R I P
POCATELLO — (Alta) Sue Kesler entered this world Sept. 6, 1941, to Mary Luella Crofts and Edmund Fredrick Kesler, the youngest of four children; Burley, Idaho, being her birthplace. Sue loved life and all that it had to offer, she was never afraid of a challenge and boy did she have some doozey’s. Shehad to be busy, summers were the best because she loved being outdoors getting a little dirt on her hands, gardenin’, campin’ , fishin’ and just doin’! Sue was a very compassionate loving woman; people that crossed her path couldn’t help but like her, she always had kind words of wisdom and a gentle loving spirit for anyone that needed her. Sue was a hard worker, she retired from the Teamsters in 2004. She had many close friends, her road construction days held many fond memories for her. Mom wasn’t a material person, she always said that stuff could be replaced but when it came to family that was a whole nother matter! Sue was the glue that kept her family flourishing through the difficult times with her unconditional love. She cherished her family, her children and grandchildren were her special jewels. Her everything. She was their rock. Sue was preceded in passing by her parents; one brother, Kay Kesler; and many other special loved ones. She is survived in life with one sister, Luanne Evans; and one brother, Byron Kesler; five children, Michael Bauer, JoAnn Bauer, Roberta (Hathaway) (Dallen) Ward, Linda Hutchison and Craig Cunningham; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mom went home in the early morning of Wednesday, April 27, 2011. She left us due to complications from the cancer of 1995. We are happy she is finally at peace. Mom will be missed by many and our wish now is to celebrate her life. No flowers, please. (Mom wouldn’t want it lookin’ like a funeral.) A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 6, at 5425 Old Bannock Highway in Pocatello, Idaho |
