The cost to get them done is about the same as having ONE replaced by the dealer or the dreaded Prowler Store. |

Ed, when I get my trailer, I will be sending you the caps for repair. Waiting on RPL to get his truck working so we can get it to my house. |

Double check to make sure the caps work on the trailer. I have found two trailers that the cap wouldn't work on. I don't know why. There are several diff. manufacturers of the center caps. Different color plastic was used. They are not all the exact same circumference, either. I finally saw Dick's son doing the update. They have to wrap the outside with painter's tape, some of them take 2 or 3 layers so they fit snug inside template to rout out the groove for the aluminum ring. Also, not all the trailer wheels were produced by the same manufacturer, I THINK. I am not positive about that fact. |

Ed, I got the trailer home last night and confirmed the caps with the old tabs can be taken on and off and fit well. But I know the tabs will break eventually and would prefer to get them upgraded now. Based on the info above, looks like it would $70 for repair of two caps. Do I just send a check in the box with the caps? |

You need to check to see if the NEW repaired ones fit the trailer. If you have the new ones on the car, simply rotate them and pull them off with your hands. The trailer rims vary wildly. My neighbor just had his upgraded and attempted to put them on his trailer. They are not even close to fitting properly. I gave him an aluminum ring with the O-ring on it to see what can be done but I have not gotten back to him to see if a larger O-ring will work. Check the new one first. If that fits, then $60 will work since you already had four done. |

I think the trailer center cap fix has been solved. My neighbor came up with something and I think it will work. I will show it to Dick and we should know this week if it will work. |

I had my center caps done by dick about 3 weeks ago. He was very prompt and I am very happy with the results. If I recall I was without caps for something like 8 days. Couldn't have been any quicker. |

Dick informed me that he has now solved the problem with the trailer center caps. In the past the "regular" fix did not work on SOME trailers. Just a reminder that there were two different runs of trailers, several years apart. CJ convinced Chrysler that more trailers were needed and they made more. I don't know if those rims are the "different" rims or if the difference was different sources of center caps, etc. In any case, the problem is solved. |

bump. Spinners are also available and Dick and my neighbor Jack got together and fixed the trailer center cap problem so Dick can now update trailer center caps, also. |
