Richard is awesome!!! I sent him my caps a week ago from today and received them back yesterday. He called to confirm he received and called with tracking number when he shipped. They fit perfectly and firmly. No shaking what so ever. Even though the stock caps were secured, they always had a little movement and was evident if you knocked on them--you could hear it. Now, it does not move at all! AND he sends a clever little tool to get the caps off! A++++ Great find Ed! |

I had nothing to do with it. Dick figured it out and asked me to post for him. I deserve no credit whatsoever. However, to remove the center cap, rotate it in place and when the tabs or ears are between the spokes, just pull the cap off. I would put some type of lubricant on the O ring once in awhile. |

I sold all that I had at the Las Vegas event Vendor's day and could have sold a few more. Thanks again to Andria for lending me 8 of them. I have a bunch for Dick to fix when I get back. Lots of folks were telling potential customers that this was a terrific fix for the problem while at the Vendor's day. |

Bump. I only have 4 spare center caps at this time. (Actually only 2 since Balloonman Brian owes my 2). If anyone has some broken center caps laying around, I would like to buy them. That way I can send out repaired caps before folks have to send in their caps for repair, eliminating about a week of downtime. If anyone has a problem with an O ring breaking let Dick or me know about it. Dick will send a replacement pronto. He doesn't want any unsatisfied customers. |

I am not trying to scare folks or cause a panic but the center caps seem to be breaking at a much more rapid rate. Since we got home from Vegas I have sold a lot of center caps. I do NOT mean Dick has repaired a lot (although he has been repairing them more frequently) I am talking about folks needing to buy one or two, because they lost one or two. They are sending in two or three but need four in return. I currently have only one spare center cap, with a couple of broken ones coming in to replace what I sent out. As the cars get older, the tabs are getting more brittle from age and heat. If you are on the fence about getting them repaired, I would suggest SOONER is a lot safer than later. If you lose one it currently costs you $ 65 to replace it from me. That may end soon as I am not hoarding a bunch of extras. I had about 18 extras a year ago and now am down to three after I get a couple in the mail. I THINK new ones from the dealer are around $ 80, (not sure of that price) and they are going to eventually fail also. You can re-inforce them with hot glue on the tabs. I did that and one still broke but it will help for awhile. Again, not trying to cause a panic or a run on center caps, but I see a definite increase in LOST caps, which gets expensive. |

The center cap repair is superior to original center caps in every way. Nothing to break and you can take them off and put them on as often as you like. |

If anyone has extra center caps, I could sure use some more. Dick has been receiving 3 at a time and we need to send four back, most of the time. As the cruising season is about to start in the snow belt, the need will only increase. I need to double check with Dick but I think he is approaching the 500th repaired cap. I was there today but forgot to ask him the exact number. He is working on hitches, for sure. He wanted to make some out of stainless steel but they do not manufacture 1 inch square stainless tubes with a thick enough wall. He has started the process and should have some available within a few weeks. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 03-26-2013 at 09:49 PM |

I will but the price and address remain the same. $110 for four caps. The cost of shipping them back is a little higher due to a little more weight. Sterling Industries 5643 Victory Dr. Cincinnati, OH 45233 |
