Mac, I just called the hotel at 1-440-816-9300 and the girl at the desk had no information in her computer about the block of rooms that were set aside for us. She didn't know what a Prowler was. Could be the sales rep you talked to didn't get their computer updated yet. |

Dale, I'll check with the hotel about the reservations & what # to call. Nothing definite yet, but if people get here early enough on Thursday, June 13th. by 2 or 3 o'clock, we might be able to go to the Christmas house where The Christmas Story was filmed. I'm checking on this. |

Please find some ideas attached from my brother who lives in the Chardon area. These are just thought provokers, they are not part of Mac's current itinerary. ****************************************************** Here is a bit of information for your Prowler Club visit to Cleveland later this year.
Red Eye Distillery and the wine country vineyards east of Cleveland are out in Geneva, which is at least an hour to hour and a half drive from Downtown where the Rock and Roll museum is located. There is not a lot to see and the distillery, it is only in the start up phase, and could fit into the garage that you had in Cinci. I don't think it would be worth the trip. There are two Amish communities in NE Ohio. One in Holmes County which is West of my place and one in Middlefield about 15 minutes from my house. There is not a whole lot to see in Middlefield. This is where my new doctor is located and I have to drive with care as not to run over the horse droppings that the horse and buggies drop at random all over the road. I can see a whole string of beautiful Prowlers with horse poop all over their undercarriages. I think your group is thinking of the settlement in Holmes County - in any case be on watch for the horse poop! As you are visiting the R&R HOF and Museum, consider the Great Lakes Science Museum right next door. Or the Wm. Mather Oreboat Museum not far down from the R&R HOF at East 9th Steet. There is also the USS COD, which is a WWII sub just a bit East of there. The Crawford Auto and Aviation Museum is located near University Circle and the Art Museum. The Crawford might be worth looking into as it has a nice car collection. They were renovating it but it should be OK for June (check it out). Also, there is the Warther Museum in Dover, Ohio. It is the place with all the wood carvings and is a 90 minute dtive South of Cleveland. Check it out at www.warthers.com (Ph# 330/343-751). |
