Winter is just about the ONLY season to drive a convertible down here. Every other season has horrible driving conditions with 93 degree heat + sweltering humidity every day. It's brutal. Our WINTER is more like early FALL up north. So unlike you northern Kat owners, I look FORWARD to winter and driving with the top down. I drove up to Ocala for Xmas. That's 291 miles one way from Aventura, FL. Weather was perfect the whole way and for Xmas. After, I stopped by a friends place in Winter Garden on 12/26 and took him on his first ride in a Prowler. It was overcast there all day so the temp maxed out at 54 degrees. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ride with the top down. Weather in Miami tomorrow will be 80 degrees, but a cold front is coming so we'll see some cool days soon. THANK GOD! In Spring 2010, I'm planning to move to ASHEVILLE, NC, so things will be different for me next year. Temp in Asheville tomorrow will be 45 degrees. Nice change! Guess I'll have to change my screen name from MIAMI-KAT soon. Don't have any ideas yet.......... |

We are leaving southern Indiana for a month long trip to Florida (in the Kat of course). Now I just need a place to visit in February and by then the weather will be once again decent here. We are becoming more like "snow birds" every year. I think it goes with age as the older I get the colder it seems. |

CJ: That was a great suggestion for Miami Kat. I know the summers in FL are not the best convertible times. We have been known to go into a "fast food" place, having the top down, the next thing, wouldn't you know, the rain would pour down for about three minutes then the sun would come out hotter than ever. |

haven't seen the car in a week. It is home in Indiana and I'm in Florida. Heading home tomorrow, but in the 1000+ miles down, driving around Winter Haven I have yet to see a Prowler or Viper and have seen only one new challenger and it was in Florida on interstate going north, looked like just a standard V6 car. Seen several vettes, Mustangs including Shelby and just a few old cars. It will be months before mine gets driven. Got a call from the guy I drive a truck for in the winter that does parking lot maintenance salting and pushing snow this past weekend. Will not come out until the roads are clean and free of salt. ------------------ |

Did car show on December 6, 2009 at the texas road house, hot wheels 4 hot meals, proceeds to benifit the Oklahoma City Rescue Mission. Weather was 30 degrees with 25 mile wind 20 degree wind chill factor. Raised $1,500.00 for christmas turkey dinners for hundreds of homeless people. First time I've had the top on the prowler in the past 4 years. Second show with the new bike and prowler together. |

The SoCal Prowlers were part of the "Tour d'Orange" cruise on New Years day. The rather informal event had about 350 cars including 11 Prowlers. We had great weather with temps in the mid 70s. The cruise route went from along the beach to some twisty canyon roads and back again in time for the bowl games. What a way to kick off 2010! Got pretty cold here last night!!! Even though I wrapped the pipes, kept the faucets dripping and heat on in all the rooms, my hot water pipes are frozen, and I only have cold water in one sink in one bathroom. I hope none of them broke when they thaw this afternoon! But the lake looked pretty neat with a thin sheet of ice across most of it. Read a blurb in today's paper that Europe is having a severe winter. On some island they asked the farmers to get the tractors out to pull the snow plows out of drifts. Global warming indeed. |

Wow, here we go again, another inch and a half of rain this morning and 41 degrees with a wind chill of 27. It has been a long time since I have seen such a wet winter here in Central Texas. At least I was able to park all of the trailers and equipment into the driveway before this round hit. The ground is so saturated, I cant even drive my riding lawnmower across the yard without burying it to the axles. Several coworkers say they have had trees falling over due to the ground being so wet for so long, just a little wind pushed them over. Rain forecasted all this next week. No Prowling still. |

Put it away for winter in November, they drop so much salt on the road. The roads are white in Northwest Indiana. Have to wait for a couple good rain falls in spring to wash off the roads. |

We had some rain last week that cleaned off the roads but if it hints that it might get below 35, they throw more salt. So far this year we have had an inch of snow and 4 inches of salt. The roads have too much salt on them again, even after the rain. |
