We'd like to take a moment to introduce ourselves: we are Kenne Bell Performance Products. We specialize in Chrysler performance. We are well recognized as the leaders in quality products for Chryslers including Superchargers, Computer Performance Upgrades, Headers and Exhaust Systems, Intakes Systems, etc.. We can take your Prowler PCM, add horsepower and make the car shift really great. We have many other reprogramming capabilities as well. We'd like to offer a free performance upgrade package to one of the members in our area (we're about five minutes from the Ontario California Airport). We want to arrange for you to come to our dyno facility where we will run before and after tests of our Optimizer II Computer Performance Upgrade on your Prowler (please it must be as close to stock as possible). We have the equipment to datalog many engine operating parameters in addition to collecting the horsepower and torque results. When we are finished, we'll supply the data and dyno tests for publication on the site if the members would like to see it. We can only offer this to one Prowler owner at this time, so whoever is the first in line and can work with our scheduling will be the winner. By the way, our Optimizer II is fully guaranteed. Upon purchasing the upgrade, you can try it within thirty days and if you're not completely satisfied, your money is refunded in full! Thanks for the opportunity to join the elite Prowler crowd! |

Ken, I called you several weeks ago about doing something for the Prowler, you said you did'nt have anything for a Prowler at the time, looks like you may have something now. Is your Optimizer II something like a Hypertech programmer or do you need the computer to add the Optimizer II? Al |

Hi Al. You may have spoken to someone else here. Many times I get mistaken as the "Ken" in "Kenne Bell", but alas, I am not he. However, I am the "programmer" of all our Chrysler, Ford and GM engine controllers. We can do all of the '97 up SBECs (Single Board Engine Controllers) including the one for the Prowler. And, it's still true that we have yet to actually get a Prowler on our dyno to see what we can really accomplish (we're certain there's something there), hence our post recruiting a volunteer. We wouldn't sell you a "calibration" for yours just guessing at it, so we want to have the actual car and test it on our dyno first and get the hard data as proof (this is where others who say they can "program" leave off because they either can't do what they say they can, or have no proof). We will wait to sell a product until we have tested it and know it's worth selling. Regards, Ken |

Kenne Bell, Can you remap the engine temperature profiles?? I would like the engine fans to kick on at a much earlier temperature than what it is doing now.

Also, Can you remove or do something with the WOT(Wide Open Throttle) 1st to 2nd split second spark/fuel shutdown?? This was done to smooth out the shifts. Thanks, |

Hey Dan, The answers are yes for the fan and shift mapping both of which I bundled into a custom programming job they did for me several months ago and I can vouch for their skills and the solid results. I've worked with several members of their staff by phone and email and found them all informative and helpful. Heading into it I collaborated with Rob at Ida on what the PP tuning system could handle best and what could/should be handled otherwise while avoiding programming conflicts and he said what I laid out for KB was fine and Rob will provide the final realtime PP tuning on the dyno around it. In fact the KB programming is so foundational to my build I'm thinking of getting a second PCM and having the same programming rolled into it as a backup. Ken's offer here sounds great. They already had a standard mapping plan for the 300M 3.5L when I bought in and I chose to pay for custom programming to suit my build. For you guys it's like Christmas coming early to be offered new dyno based programming IMHO, particulary for whoever bags the freebie 8-) . Two thumbs up from a very satisfied customer. |

Hi Everyone! Thanks very much for all your responses to our offer for the Optimizer II. We just want to let everyone know we should be reporting the preliminary results of who gets the free Optimizer II by this evening. Before we can for sure say who won, we just want to make sure the arrangements work out right for both the Prowler owner and Kenne Bell. We can do the fans, the trans (shift torque management) and much, much more in the Prowler PCM. We're excited about having a Prowler at Kenne Bell to squeeze some more performance out of! We'll be publishing the results of our tests here on the site and on our own website when completed. Please be patient as we have a heavy workload. We'll be back! Regards, Kenne Bell |

Todd, The dynojet would test rear wheel horses whereas an engine dyno would test at the flywheel. ------------------ |

Ken, What kind of performance gains are you guys thinking for a stock prowler? Is this reversable (not meaning a refund but, resetting it to factory limits when I take the car in for warranty work)or something I can turn off/on at will? Since it will be available immediately after the dynoing, what is your prelimiary pricing? I think I speak for most of us when I say, it's been a long time coming for this idea that so many other cars have had available. Thanks. |

To YellowFever: We expect to see at least 15 horsepower based on tests from other vehicles with similar powertrains. As far as reversing the Optimizer II, we have never had anyone want to do this. Since we reflash the factory PCM, this makes it tricky to reset to stock. It can certainly be done because we keep every single factory PCM calibration in archives, so if you want it reflashed back to stock, we can do this. You would have to send it back to us to flash back to stock if you wanted it that way again. There may be a nominal service fee to perform this service. The price for the Optimizer II upgrade is $349. You send your PCM to us, we ship it back to you Next Day Air no charge. Thanks for your interest! We're excited about producing some good results. The tests will begin very soon. Best regards, Ken |

Thanks Ken, Wouldn't want to have to send it in everytime to reset it. Will your changes void the current warranty? (I have a 2002) Would your changes be reset back to normal by the DC techs everytime I took it in? (I'm guessing here folks, the tech plugs in his gizmo and sets it to factory standards) Thanks and look forward to hearing how the testing goes with Todds car. Say, he didn't trade you a girlfriend or tattoo for this, did he???? Congrats Todd!!!!!!!!! |
