Being the test pilot for Larry Lord's new product - the FMBox front stabilizer bar, herein I'll refer to it as the WONDER BAR. Until you drive with it installed on your cat, you will WONDER why you waited so long to buy one! As far as I know, Larry has not yet given this new product a name. TEST RESULTS: Test Car - 2000 Prowler with 29,100 miles to start Mileage of test - 2,898 miles Arizona to Texas and back Visual exam at finish - good as new Testing over railroad tracks, pot holes, manhole covers, and rough roads - Amazing difference in road feeling. Much softer cabin sensation = greatly reduced harsh bang/thump feelings. Testing on good to normal road surfaces - Smooth as silk. Maybe not the ride of a Lincoln, but much improved over what I have experienced in my Prowler. Overall satisfaction of test product - Grade A Who should buy this product? - 1997 through 2002 owners who primarily use their cars as cruising vehicles. Who should not buy this product? - Prowler owners who enjoy the harsh, stiff ride that transitions into the cabin ride feeling, and those who might run their cars in road racing events. Overall review - With testing done on a 2000 model Prowler, I would venture to say that the WONDER BAR should improve the ride of 2000 and newer Prowlers by a 50% improvement over what you are now use to. That figure should be higher on the 1997 and 1999 model Prowlers. JMO Accreditation - The WONDER BAR will carry the Alley Cat Stamp of Approval
We will have to wait for Larry Lord to make any further comments or availability of this new test product. You can contact Larry via email or PM from the POA website. Larry@FMBbox.com

Sorry Jim, no pictures taken during the install. I think it was 6 or 8 bolts to remove, replace with new bar, and reverse order to put it back together. Maybe I can catch up with you on some weekend, and you can torture test my cat on some of those Foothills roads in your area? It's a nice product that smooths out the ride,,,,I was really amazed at the difference. |

I knew that I had a good idea and I knew by calulations what should work but I was amazed at just how much difference the "Wonder Bar" made on my car and so was Alley Cat. Thank you Larry for the name idea. I've decided to use it so now I'm pretty sure that after Al Bendover (Alley Cats attorney) gets done with me, I'll be paying royalties to my furry friend. After receiving such a good report from Alley Cat, I started my initial production run this week. The bar arms are being laser cut this week and the 4130 Chrome-Moly parts should be welded together by the end of next week. I will then take them to the heat treater to have them normalized and hardened. After the heat treater is finished, I'll need to take them to the sandblaster for cleanup and then they will be ready for the powdercoat shop and a nice coating of silver paint. I'm not sure of the price yet. I was hoping to keep them under $200.00 but that doesn't look likely. I'm now guessing at $250-$275 as steel and heat treating costs are higher than I expected. AL, A/C had it riveted to his hood and that is why it will be powder coated silver, so it looks a little better. lol |

quote: Ed - No, there is not going to be a decal on it stating it has the AC Stamp of Approval,,,,,,,,,,,,but Julie requested from Lethia that she mail her 50 of my longest chest hairs. Something about the first 50 units sold would have one of my hairs glued to the WONDER BAR and numbered. This will increase the value of these first units in the years to come! |

Al - Yes, you are correct, this replaces the OEM stabilizer bar. I guess I should have taken some pictures during the install, but I was short on time when installing it and the days were counting down to the take-off for Texas. Besides, you wouldn't want to see pictures of my lard as$ working under the nose of the cat, lol. |

She keeps a baggie of my hair with her, too. Alley Cat's chest hair was probably on the burger he was eating, after the hair fell out. lol This thread has gone WAAAAY down hill even by A/C's and my standards (IF we had standards, I mean). |
