Cruisin for a Cure I know quite a few people are interested in this event. It's the same one that was previously held at the El Toro Marine Air Base. One of our members is a 3 year cancer survivor and hopes that many Prowlers will join him at this event. ALL PROCEEDS go to finding a cure for Cancer. There is a 2500 car limit and spaces are going fast. Let's support this cause! This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 06-23-2002 at 10:38 PM |

I am the prostate cancer survivor that Larry Lord referenced. I have registered my 1999 yellow Prowler for the event and invite anyone else who is interested in participating to join me. I am talking to the event coordinator who has agreed to set aside a special spot to display our Prowlers. However, they are filling up the slots very quickly and I suggest that you register ASAP to assure a place. There will be a maximum of 2500 cars at the event. I hope to see you there! Gary Liebl |

Hi Gary, I've talked to you on the phone once before your Hawaii vacation. I hope you've had a great time. It's good to hear from you again. Let me know and I will bring my prowler for you to check out all of the upgrades and we will do lunch too . I will be at the show. Binh Nguyen P.S. I have to see your Vette too.

I spoke to quite a few people this weekend that said they have signed up for the Cruisin for a Cure event on Sept 28th at the Orange County Fairgrounds but I cannot remember who they are. Please post to this thread if you are planning on being there. Leibl This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 08-19-2002 at 02:39 PM |

Ok...I have just spoke to the chairman and President of the event, Debbie Baker. Larry, you're right on the dot. 5 Prowlers. That's it??? Come on folks, we can do better than that I hope. How about the folks were at Nethercutt Collection Museums this pass weekend. Please, don't make me to make an offer you can't refuse. Then, that will be really really bad... ------------------ |

quote: I will be there...I was the first to sign up. My documentation package sent recently by the event coordinators indicates that they will start letting the 2500 cars in at 5:30 AM. Should we all meet somewhere early and enter together, so that we can park together? Gary |

Well Gary, welcome back... Since my home is only about 5 minutes away from the fair, we all can meet at my home and wake up my neighbors (depends on meeting time); In-Out Burger (too early for double-double), Starbucks for coffee (that will wake us up, etc...Anyone has any suggestions??? ------------------ |

Randy, Glad you can make it. On the way down, would you mind if you can stop and drag Todd and Cliff down here too...? Check out this post on later date so we all can meet and drive to the fairground together to get club parking. ------------------ |

I'm not a morning kind of guy but I'll do whatever the team decides to do. It sounds like Gary and Binh know the area and the local meeting places for an early cup of coffee. Just let me know what time I need to be there and I'll see you 10 minutes after that. C'mon people,,,if I can get up early for a good cause,,,so can you. Let's get some more cars signed up for this event. Randy, glad to hear that you'll be there too. |

Gary and Larry, I haven't been to this event. The gate will be open at 05:30AM. I'll pick the place if you guys pick the time. I am a morning guy so anytime will be OK. Starbucks' coffee and donuts are on me...So there, no excuses. ------------------ |

Binh: I believe that Debbie (or someone else) at the event will reserve an appropriate number of spaces for us together if we give her a "headcount" in advance. I would imagine that we need to congregrate at 4:30 or 5:00 AM if we are to all drive in together at 5:30 AM. It is early, but I am game. Should we meet at your house or a local Starbucks? Looking forward to the 28th... Gary |

Is there a reason we need to get there that early? Is the sun even up at that time? Yawn...I need my beauty sleep badly. Maybe a later meeting time will convince others to join us? I'll be there whenever you all decide to meet. Monte,,Randy,,,Bonnie,,,what do you think? |

Monte, I have talked to Debbie and said that we do not need to be there that early. All we have to do is to show up together so we all can get group parking. They will not reserve spots like they did last year. I am still figuring out where to meet. I will keep you all posted... ------------------ |

You bet, Todd!!! They are not doing any reserved spots like last year. Since we have a small group, for now, we might consider meeting every one-say 7:00am at my house (address listed below) for coffee and donuts; then we will drive down at 7:30 sharp. As long as we all arriving together, we will be able to park together, she said. We all should meet at 7:00am:
