All the instruments quit working on my 1999 Prowler except the volt meter and the tach, also the airbag light is on. All my research led me to believe it was the body control module. I just replaced the BCM and still have the same issue. I guess I just wasted $700. I need some technical help from you guys, I'm frustrated. Car only has 15,400 miles on it.

You spent money you didn't have to but not wasted. You still have a valuable part. I would put the old one back in and keep it as a new part.

Do a search on "clock spring" and see if a bad one is similar to your symptoms.

The new BCM was exchange or another $500 core charge so Chrysler has the old one. My search of the clock spring said if you can still control the radio from the steering wheel its probably ok.

Is there a chance your horn has gone off on its own and doors lock by themselves I had an issue last year that might be what you are having

Can this be the "pinched" wire harness on the drivers side problem?

As always chk your ground cable from battery to frame . Even if it's tight remove and scrape/clean the frame then reinstall and tighten.

Cdn. I believe that is a switch that is located on the key lock of the door...allows you to use key to manually lock and arm alarm. you can remove wire and just use key fob.

Adacus, where would the pinched wire harness be? left foot kick panel or closer to the steering wheel. I've been all through the kick panel replacing the BCM but didn't see anything there.

Mslc10, I'll try the ground wire cleaning today. Thx

Did you check out the fuses? Remove panel cover on driver's side of dash. Look at the chart and check Fuse number 4 and 11.
Other things to check out if fuse 4 is blown, are footwell lamps on with door open, radio, keyless remote locks doors.

This is just another example of some phantom problems occurring in cars that are not driven very much. JMO.

There is a couple of pics on this thread. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/009738.html
Remove the engine side panels to see the harness, near the air intake snorkel.

I lost all gauges and dash indicators in the yellow awhile back, ended up being the battery, even though it would start the car.

I did a search on "gauges not working" and 2 posts may give you something to consider. Seems like they had circuit board issues. May be something to consider as the symptoms sound similar.

Sounds like the same problem the other people had in the links I posted. It's probably a cracked cold solder joint. My brother found that problem on his F-150 odometer a few years back and posted a step by step repair. To this day it has over 127,000 views. That is a common problem with today's instrument clusters. Glad you got it fixed.

I was checking out the cars today and saw that this same thing is happening to both of the 1999's. The Yellow has done it before, but everything would come back on once the car ran a few minutes. The 2001 has no problem. All are on battery tenders, but haven't been driven much at all this year. I didn't have time to take them out on the road, but let them run for awhile, starting and stopping, but the dash would not come back on and the airbag lights are on.
