My Prowler here in the UK keeps turning itself off whilst driving. Intermittent problem. I would like to buy a good ecu. Anyone have a good one for sale?

1999 purple model. Just turned to 30,000 miles today. I bought it with 16000 miles on it six years ago. Always garaged with a battery tender on.
I've had this issue for a while now and today it started from cold fine. Drove ten miles and left it an hour, came back and it turned over but just would not fire. Like there is no spark at all. Kept trying for a few minutes with some pauses then it fired instantly. Drove for seven miles and it cut whilst driving. Rolled to a stop. But it into park, turned the key and it started and drove fine for a further five miles to home. Simply spoils having the car.
Any ideas anyone?

Loose ground wire would be a good place to start. Also the cheapest fix if that is the culprit.

That is a picture of the passenger side, behind the side panel. The air box is in the upper left of the picture.
Catfish has cited this area has a potential problem for years. The wires are smashed and/or pinched and can cause an intermittent problem.
It might be worth taking off the outer covering and flexing those wires.
Pictures are courtesy of TooHipCat.

Note the light green wire with the pink/red stripe. It is creased somewhat on a 90 degree turn toward the rear of the car.

Thanks guys, Catfish that guy who recently had this problem was me. It has never gone away.
Ed, thanks for that picture. I will check that area as soon as I can.
I'm convinced its a wiring issue.
