My Dad is ready to purchase a hard top for his Candy. Where are we on numbers as of 9/1? Do we have 5 needed for the discount?

I have received good service from TGF. I call Nani her phone number is listed on page 2 of this post. I typically receive a call back from a Prowler specialist within a few hours. Please note the techs are gone around 3:00 pm in the afternoon.

Hi guys,

I talked to Nani-ann yesterday regarding the group purchase. here is the info that she has emailed me:

At this time lead time is 4-6 weeks.

If you could get 6 people together we could give everyone 10% off. The way these group orders work is we have to receive all orders before they are put into production. Shipping cost, duty, customs, etc..must be paid by the customer.

We would prefer selling these tops unpainted but if someone wants their top painted the cost is 3108.00. We also need the gas cap cover to match color. This still will not guarantee exact color match.

The price of unpainted is $2641.00 less 10% = $2376.90
...............painted is $3108.00 less 10% = $2797.20

I'll take an unpainted one. Let me know how many people are serious about this. We should all order around the same time. Let's do it!

You know, I never thought I would say this, but if I end up moving, I would definitely want the hard top. I have been very spoiled here in San Diego and would not even consider this option, but the thought of driving back east has me a bit on edge. I will keep an eye on this thread as I make a decision.

I've caved. I was going to wait until later to get a hard top, but looking at the price...I can't wait any longer (even though my cat is going to be in storage for another 2 yrs).

I have one question. My cat is black, my top would be black, any benefit to going unpainted vs having them paint it?

I guess that would be dependent on the condition of the paint on the car now...... a local shop may be able to get a perfect match with the car right there... but TGF are professionals so I'm sure their finished product would be first class. they will require the gas cover off your car to paint the top so they can match it correctly , but as they say, they would sooner sell them unpainted. I'm getting mine unpainted because i'm getting some airbrush work done anyways....

I bought the painted hardtop and it looks great. If you buy unpainted, the headliner might need to be removed and replaced in order to get painted and look right.

I purchased a unpainted hardtop w/ the last group purchase. I had it painted by a local body shop & they didn't need to remove the headliner. I did have some problems adjusting the hardtop & I tried several times to contact TGF, they wouldn't return the phone calls (they did talk to me when I was paying for the top). Matt

Long thread,
What is the cost of a unpainted one today.
How many people are in line to get one.
How much money is saved on a group order?
I've have one on my Candy and love it.
Thinking about getting another.
I got a price on a top and other stuff unpainted,
about 2 weeks ago.
Got to find my list, think it my be at work.
This problem is caused by "CRS"

As far as the yellow I purchased 3 years ago, the paint quality of the hardtop is superior to that of the prowler itself. I can't imagine a color match problem with any of the "solid" colors (and I've had as much trouble matching the paint on repairs as anyone, but there was no problem at all with the top). The difference in cost for painted is VERY reasonable for the quality.
