Mine was already done when I purchased the car but I can say the fit and finish of the mills one is excellent. |

George, My Silver has a Mills rear pan on it if you remember what it looks like. Tom also offers a version that will work with a modified trailer hitch. There are others out there that will work with a stock hitch but it is something you need to keep in mind when looking at these parts. Another thing to keep in mind is that your exhaust tips will appear to stick out much further than they do now which is why I installed the GTX style on my Kat. Here is a photo of my Kat with the Mills rear pan installed. |

Andrias right... the tips will stick out a bit... I had a machine shop cut them back flush then had the whole exhaust system except the headers powdercoated hi temp black... |

I looked again at the photos of the hitch prior to installation and there appears to be no provision for safety chains. The modified Mills hitch is (I think) lower than a stock one which would make it necessary to have a raised insert to tow a trailer and keep it at the right height. I am guessing that maybe the modified hitch is designed mostly for holding luggage racks and boxes. There are aftermarket pans that allow for the stock hitch if memory serves. |

Question: Don't these block air to the tranny cooler? It seems to be covered up |

Does this 'modification' let the air threw adequately? Or does it trap more heat to be contained on the transmission and transaxle assembly? |

That is irrelevant to my question but since you seem to want to stir things up, I will answer yours. I believe that the pan in your picture actually helps with cooling the transmission by scooping up air, while moving forward, and directing it around and past the cooler. It has the identical opening that the cooler has and that opening is within 1" of the cooler's surface. The pan is shaped like a scoop. |

jan, the trailer has safety cables not chains, and penna law requires they be attached to the vehicle. i don,t want to get caught without my cables hooked up, they might notice my missing bumpers lol. |

Jan, I actually have seen them work a few times, though not on a prowler but it is a safety item and with the weight of the prowler trailer should hold long enough to pull to a safe portion of the roadway. |
