Dave, By plugging it into the CD changer, can you still use the steering wheel controls?
I am not going to take mine apart to change it, but just wondering about it.

Absolutely! Please note that the adapter is not plugged into the CD changer itself, I am simply using the factory extension cable that the CD changer was using. It is exactly the same as plugging the adapter into the back of the head unit, it is just much easier!

Dave - that's the exact same way I ran mine. Super simple, took a matter of minutes after I figured out the instructions told me to use the wrong cable. T

I had mine apart before I knew the cable was the wrong choice plus I am not all that technical, like plugging in electrical cords. lol

Installed a iSimple peripheral unit today. Thanks for all the previous posts with info on this unit. Took 10 minutes to install behind the seat at CD player. I won't miss the CD player.

BTW only one left in stock at Amazon.

Just installed this thing today.
Really only takes 10 minutes to install, I was surprised.
For $90 buck...everyone should intall this thing.
It rocks! I would recommend this product.

I just ordered this adapter. There were only three left and it was on sale for 83.99. I chose free shipping plus I still had a $10.28 left on a gift card so I paid only $73.71. Now there are two left.

The plastic clip on mine fell apart on the way to Fl. You have to push in two little clips on the side to insert the cable into the iPod. Mine fell apart into 4 pieces. I didn't drop it, it was sitting on the passenger seat.
Hopefully I can super glue it back together.

I haven't purchased one of these but Classic Industries (classicindustries.com) has a MP3/media adapter that you put in the antenna line, i.e., you unplug the antenna from the radio and plug it into this device and plug the device into the radio where the antenna goes. Whenever the IPod or whatever is turned on it overrides the radio signal. With this you can still use the CD player. It is part "14923 and is $130. I want to get one for my Cuda but that is a few months away.

The best part of the iSimple product is the ability to control the track and volume with the factory steering wheel controls.

Actually that pic has now taken center stage in the middle stall in the barn. We've had some critter activity down there and that pic most certainly will scare away whatever it is!! Ken has absolutely nothing to worry about, in fact, I can think of no man that would have.

Absolutely! I bought it on Ebay many years ago. These mounts are still available on Ebay, here's a link for you:

And a link to the short installation instructions:

It is a very handy way to mount my phone; I love it!

Good luck to you!

I just installed this IPOD adapter and the sound quality is actually better than the CD's and radio but I'm not really sure why that would be. Easy install and worth every penny.
