Marty - All your answers are below: 1. a second Prowler - low mileage for daily driving replacement and still modify my current Prowler. Yes and make it Orange.
Don't do it, you will just blend into the herd in anything else. After all those miles in the Prowler this
No. I want one and if you get one it means one less for me to choose from.
No. For the same reason in #3.
Honestly, I have had 4 Vipers and with the long trips you take the Viper would not be my first choice.

Steve - I know of one 60's muscle car I could use as a daily driver and not blend into the crowd - it's a Candywine Red GTO with EFI! Sweet car! |

Marty: After fighting through my health issues, it became obvious I needed to have some FUN (with my clothes on) and the only answer was a Prowler. Now, since I have cleaned it up and have it show worthy, I have decided I'm not just going to walk softly to the grave, SO, I am going in sliding broadside, stand up in the seat and shout,"WHAT A RIDE". Bought the second one last week, ORANGE, of course, and just doubled my fun factor. Get the orange one. I'send you a PM with picture. Thanks for your help in the efforts to buy the one in Louisville. Blew Buyou said it, Orange Peeler lookin at you. Jim |

Marty, just by what you post, I know a street rod is in your future. I am curious in how you would build it. You lean towards old school and I do the same. Now I'm sounding like a friggen fortune teller[lol]. What ever it will be let us know, because I like to read your posts... |

manny - you are correct, I have wanted a street rod of some sort for ages. I just like so many other types of cars also; muscle cars particularly 60's GTO's and Chevelles, 49 and 50 lead sleds, 61/62 Impala convertibles, & Nomads among others. For street rods, I have recently started liking the look of some Ratrods but don't know if I would actually be happy be one; 41 Willys are cool, 37 Ford pickups, and a 33 Speedster is at the top of my list. Looks like I'm going to need a big garage! |

Marty, Let me first say that of the three cars I have left, the Prowler will be the last I would sell if I have to. That being said, (I agree with Quincy by the way) I have been to three Funerals this year ( I agree with Ed too). I told Shelley I have always wanted a Viper - so, many don't know it but this is what I did. I read about Vipers, picked a year with Anti-lock Brakes (Alley Kat is right too ! ) and bought a Deep Sapphire Blue one. It is a Kick in the Pants. And Larry Bell was instrumental in helping me (Tangled up in Blue)choose and also warning me that the Viper is a dangerous car even for those of us who own fast cars. It is a different car and I LOVE driving it. Get a used Gen II viper. I slept in it the first week I owned it. (not because Shelley kicked me out) It is a Beautiful car and I now own 2 hand built Chryslers that are incredible vehicles. And the value has actually GONE UP since I purchased it. You will not believe the driving experience.... Good luck ! Marty, the only turn off I have towards the no top roadsters is that I've seen many owners either not go to a run or getstuck at a run because of rain. I mean big money cars under covers when everyone else is gone. But your choices of cars to consider is right on. I'll be rooting for you |

One time when we went to KY Speedway and it was pretty cold out, a guy in a kit Cobra had to put on his top for the drive home. I would say it took longer to put on that top than it would have taken to drive home (and it looked lousy, to boot). |

Thanks Randy - I love it... Ed - I was with you guys at the Track with the Gentleman in the Cobra and yes, those take about 1/2 an hour to put the top on. Didn't he have like a Leather Hat with Ear Muffs on ? Manny - That is why you buy a GEN II....I have now put about 600 miles on it in the last month or so WITH THE TOP ON. The Gen II's have power Windows, Power Locks, adjustable pedals etc. And with the Top on it is surprisingly quiet. And Still a blast to Drive. Unlike the Prowler Tops, I can put this on and off all by myself. I could have gone for an SRT10 with the push of a button the top goes down, but I simply like the looks of the 92-2002's. Test Drive a Viper Marty - Maybe Next Time I see you I'll drive it. Drive a Viper with Rebecca in the car. Bet you'll buy one. Keep the Prowler and go with the new Z06. For the price, it is a fantastic sports car and I'm afraid the Viper's days of supremacy are over. You can use it to make "believers" out of all those foreign car drivers that paid twice as much. With the Prowler and Vette combo you would have it all, power and beauty. The Chevy and Mopar can exist in the same space. IBC |

ZO6.....SWEET they did a test drive on speed channel last week, this thing is supposed to do 11s in the 1/4 mile, vipers are horny too, but i think for the money, the corvette takes the cake. |

They make around 2500 "hand built" Vipers a year! There are under 75000 of them built. Something like 11 million Corvette owners. New Vipers already have enough horse power. Big woop--New vette is like 1 hundreds of a second faster. It's not a Viper. Look for next years Viper to be at least 550 HP! It's not just about speed or price. If it was who wants a Prowler for its Speed. Price maybe! I've owned 3 vettes, granted not the new one. But I see 1000 Vettes for every Viper I see. There are only 247 in CT. Some are owned by garage Queens. If you guys like ordinary why did you buy a Prowler? We are not looking for ordinary!!Buy a Viper or at least drive one. I love the New Bentley Continental GT, but before I can comment on one I should drive one. Never know might not float my Boat! We all are different and we will all pick different cars to own if given the chance. We all agree on one thing The prowler is a fun unique car! ------------------ This message has been edited by CTProwler on 11-28-2005 at 12:20 PM |
