After reading http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000163.html it got me thinking about how to get a large order of Prowler Matchbox cars. I checked with Wal-Mart and they only can get Matchbox cars in fixed boxes. It looks like the best route is to go straight to Mattel for this, Mattel might be interested if there's enough interest in it ( I'm talking a 1000 + cars ). I'll call Mattel Monday if there's enough interest in doing this, I'm in for a 100 so if you're interested post here and mention how many you'd like. Wal-Mart sells them for around 85 cents, I would think Mattel wouldn't charge anymore then that. Al P.S. The idea here is to hand them out to kids and put a smile on there faces. |

Al, I'm in for $100 worth as long as they're a buck or less each. Prefer yellow, of course, but the standard gold one would be fine. -GRROWL |

Damn, that's 300 already, I'd prefer yellow myself but I'll take what ever color Mattel will do. This could be the worlds largest group purchase. |

I contacted Matchbox and they said I had to go through a retail outlet..... If you can do it, I am in for it. If they about $1 each, I would be in for 100. ------------------ |

I'll also commit for AT LEAST 100 if under a buck. I'd also prefer yellow. If we could get 1,000 I sure someone would cut us a deal. ------------------ |

Matthew, I'll call Monday and find out what they say, the real question is will Mattel just sell the Prowlers? If we need to go thru a retailer and Mattel will sell them the amount of Prowlers we need I don't care, that's just as long as there no more then a $1 each. The bottom line is, Prowler owners are willing to do a good deed but I don't think we want to be taken advantage of either. It looks like we're at about 600 cars as of now, I think we could go well into the thousands if this keeps up. |

Randy, I don't know of any member here who could be of some help...but you never know who might be reading this thread. The count is now 700 cars and counting. |

Just an idea here - we have all seen "Commemorative Edition" matchbox cars out there. At the quantity that appears to be at hand (and growing...) it may be possible to have Matchbox/Mattel do a special run for the POA... Something to think about... |

800 in less than 5 hours. Pretty strong. I don't think 2,000 is a stretch at all! ------------------ |

EXCELLENT idea!! Maybe WildCat has some insight on getting something like this done. Probably have to get about 10,000 of them done though. They did it for Barrett-Jackson. |

Let's raise our sights. My guess is at least 50 people would be interested at 100 each, or 5,000-plus. That's probably enough to get a custom POA version like the sports teams and colleges. -GRROWL |
