That car is butt ugly and I wouldn't be caught in one if they released it for sale. There are more drawing board cars that are neater looking than that one. My two cents worth.. |

Denis, the Atlantic or PT Convertible? I am lukewarm on both of them from the pictures. In person they could look better. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 12-08-2002 at 12:58 AM |

The Atlantic Ed. It is not anymore than an old body styling of an old Jaguar with some new era parts. As for the PT Cruiser I think that they are now like the Ford Taurus, there are too many out there and they don't get the looks that they use to a couple of years ago. Before the Cruiser came out I wrote Chrysler and they sent me specs.,brochures, and even a toy Hot Wheels of the Cruiser to get me excited about buying one. Then once they hit the market every dealer on the block and used car dealer had one to sell. They just aren't as appealing to me anymore. When I laugh the most is when I drive up behind one and the body trim says " Limited Edition". Denis |

We think the PT Convert is awesome and the turbo version is a blast to drive, Purple Lady wants one as soon as they come out. |

Denis, I have a LIMITED EDITION. lol. I agree there are a ton of them out there and one of my sons said it was a "chick" car but I like the car and I like the looks of it. I would compare it more to the VW bug or the first Mustangs rather than the Taurus, though. The Taurus was never stylish or cutting edge. I am not saying it will be a classic or worth a lot of money but I think it is a nice car for the price. I have to wait to see the Convertible in person to decide. I can't picture what the back end looks like. |

I'll keep my "Prowler". I'd say it again and again,"There is nothing that compares to the look of the prowler". |

What's the big deal on the PT Convertible? My dealers had one for about a month now. It is a 4-door convertible and goes for $35K. Seriously, you can buy it now! It isn't the factory convert, but looks just like it and you do not have to wait. The convertible is made by some company that take a regular PT and ... well ... converts it. ------------------ |

I have seen pictures of the 4 door conversion and to me there is no comparison in looks between it and the 2 door which is much better looking. We probably won't be using the rear seat much so rear access is not an issue either. Also the 2 convert door will likely be a factory turbo. If you have driven a non turbo PT vs the new GT Cruiser that alone for us is worth the wait. JMO to each his own. |
