I'd LOVE to have one, or two, or three... but I'd not trade my Prowler's in on them. ------------------ |

It kind of reminds me of the Gran Prix from the late 60's or early 70's and the back looks somewhat like some of the Caddies and Buicks from the about the same period, that were fish tail looking. |

It seems to me that most concepts (in this day and time) if brought to market, are done so within a matter of months almost. (18-24) If you wait too long, the other guys have brought theirs out first. The Atlantic has been around awhile at least that long as a concept. I'd only consider trading the prowler on one if a) they did make it and b) it was available as a convertible. Of course most concepts seem to be vastly different from the final product (the prowler being an exception) so all bets are off till the production version (if ever made) is seen. |

It must have been fate. I saw the Atlantic and Prowler concept cars at the same time at the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs when Chrysler was the major sponsor of the Triple Crown. While the Atlantic was a striking design, my eyes were drawn to the Prowler. |

Very very cool car but I would not trade my Prowler for it if it became a production car. Of course I would trade my Prowler for the one off concept because it is worth so much and the only one. |

AS A CHRYSLER DEALER FROM PAST EXPERIENCE I WOULDN'T BET ON THIS COMING OUT IN OUR LIFETIME WE'RE STILL WAITING FOR THE PT CONVERTIBLE THE CROSSFIRE AND THEY NEVER DID BUILD THE 300M HEMI CONVERTIBLE |

The problem with MOST concept cars is they will never build them. This is one of them, and if they did it would have a very limited market. I would not want one. I seen it at MCC show in `98, it is OK. (I'm a terrible speller but it think it looks like a Bugotti from the 30's) What they need to build and I would like to have would be the 40's looking Power wagon Ram pick up, Charger RT or the 300 and PT convertible. These are more practical cars that would sell. Right now they need to have high volume cars that everyone needs/wants. These would not be a replacement for the Prowler but would be great daily drivers ------------------ |

quote: I thought the crossfire was a done deal? Glad I didn't put a deposit on one if not (salesman was really pushing for this). I also thought the same of the PT convertible or PT/GT convertible. As far as the 300M Hemi, they already have the car, now they have the engine, seems like they could if they wanted to. |

You are right Larry, it does look like a Buggati. Also, the headlights remind me of the new Morgan Aero 8. |

YF you are correct, the Crossfire and the PT Convertible are a done deal and will be built. The Crossfire is really a Mercedes in disguise. I read an article in the wheels section of the local paper last Friday and it said the Hemi will eventually find its way into an DC automobile. Likely the 300M. WC, I agree with you on the Charger and the Power Wagon truck. I would ad to that list the Pwoer Wagon style SUV concept the built. All with a Hemi of course By the way the Atlantic has an straight eight motor. This message has been edited by BeWare on 12-03-2002 at 04:21 PM |

quote: Till my wife wraps it around a tree. Then I'd have two 4's Kinda off topic but, as long as we are talking DC cars/trucks, how come them don't make the Ram quadcab into a Suburban type vehicle? My wife asked me this the other day and I had never thought of it. They have the Durango (which we just bought one of) that is very nice but, smaller then say a Yukon or Tahoe. Anyone know why? |

I know the Atlantic won't become a production car... but I wonder... if it did go into production, would they add some sort of bumper to the front, and what would it look like??? |

No, I wouldn't trade my Prowler for one. The Prowler is a fun car(toy) for me, thus I like the convertible and the look. The Atlantic would be a great second toy for me though. It would compliment the Prowler in that it APPEARS to be larger and more roomy. I love the styling, but since it will not go into production the question is moot. |

quote: They were going to make one and call it the Adventurer after the station wagon of the 50-60's. I was told that they thought there would not be a big enough demand too offset the crash tests. So they only make it in Mexico and it looks somewhat like the old Ram Charger. |
