The first is the Buick Blackhawke and the second is indeed the Forty Nine. I agree the Atantic is awesome as well. It has a straight eight power plant.

Atlantic is remeniscent of the old Bugatti. I can't think of the model. Ralph Lauren spent about $2M recently restoring one. I had a raised weld seam that ran right down the middle of the car and leather straps holding the hood down.

No dirt kicking. They have stopped production (or as some say, it's dead). Yes, there are still a few new ones available but I suspect most of us that have one might not want another so, what would their next toy car be.

My list is varied :

cobra kit car
current body viper
saleen s7
360 modena spider
ford gt40
and maybe even yet another prowler

Is the Buick Blackhawke a concept that will go nowhere too?

Thanks for posting the pic of the Bel-Air CJ...I think I need to see it in person though.

I also thought the new Crossfire WILL have a Hemi....

What do you all think of the new Thunderbird......I think it's sharp...seen a few in person. I would swap those wierd wheels though...I don't like the style.

I don't think the crossfire is getting a hemi (I stand to be corrected). I thought I read it was a v-6 too.

Looks of T-bird are o.k. but, I've heard from a few people that ride and build quality are NOT job 1

You can actually buy new crate hemi motors now from some mopar outlets. I forgot where I saw it but, they are available and is probably cheaper then buying a whole car.

As for fit the 5.7L Hemi is about the same size as the engine it is replacing and is much smaller than the 426 Hemi. This will become a very popular engine for street rods and such.

Unfortunately it won't be available as a crate motor for some time yet. It was over 6 months after the V-10 was offered in the Ram that it could be purchased and even then you had to have a core to exchange. My dealer is on point and is to let me know as soon as one is available. If anyone finds out how to get one sooner please let me know.

Would it fit in a prowler though?

Say, and speaking of changes to a prowler, has anyone actually converted one to a REAL manual transmission?

Checked with the dealer today and the only crate Hemis available currently are B Blocks in the 426 C.I. family. Because the 5.7L Hemi is the standard engine in the 3/4 and 1 ton Rams it should become available sooner than the V-10 did. At least I hope so

The GT40 would be my first pick if someone wanted to get on my good side. That Chevy pickup with the retractable hardtop would be nice as well. Before that though I'd have to go with my #1 desired muscle car - a 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 convertible. Of course I've always had a deep affection for '67-'69 Mopars with hemis.

Whatever anyone sends me will be fine!

In high school, a buddy of mine had a yellow Buick GTX w/ black buckets, a huge engine, and a factory tach mounted on the hood of the car. I'd love to have that car now as much as I wanted it then....

Here is a question for those that may know the answer, Why do auto makers create concept cars when they already know they will not make it?

Also, why do they always feel they need to crush them afterwards? Why not sell or auction them off or at least put them in a museum or something???

I'm pretty sure it was a buick, I also thought there was an "X" in the name, maybe GSX or something.

Of course, I also can't remember my high school name thanks to a dear friend back then. Jack Daniels

THAT'S IT!!! I think it was Buick's version of a GTO. It was really sweet and in bright yellow, with blach stripes, it looked awesome (even standing still)

Another guy had a 70 Cuda, blue on blue with one small caveat, his dad had the engine taken out and put in some huge ported/polished hemi engine that cost as much as the car did new. He then added Thrush side pipes that turned down in front of the rear wheels. Geez was that car fast!!!!

I drove your garden variety VW bug. A bug with bigger heads, high lift rocker arms, street strip cam, power pulley, headers, stinger tube, high rise manifold with twin webers, Hurst shifter. Had to use a 100 lb. weight in the trunk to keep it from popping wheelies Ahhhh high school....
