01Prowler, can you tell us exactly how the accident happened? It looks like, from the pictures, the front and back are intact, but both sides got destroyed. How is this possible? Glad you are all right. Take it easy. Mike K, don't listen to Cat Dude there are not going to be anymore accidents (I hope). |

I was just driving down the hwy with the top down going about 70mph listening to some tunes. And all of a sudden I get hit HARD from the rear.... Supposedly it was two cars racing, and the only thing I can figure out how it actually happened was that one of the cars tried to swerve around me, but hit me. I was rearended on the left side, left rear bumper was wedged under car, left rear suspension pieces are broken, as well as half shaft for left rear tire is ripped out of transmission.... So after this happened I pretty much lost control of the car, slid to the left hit the car that hit me that was traveling at a high rate of speed, slammed him into the concrete wall, then bounced off of him, and hit the "other" car that he was racing that was on the right side of the car..... That is the only way I can figure out how it happened.... I didn't see it coming so I can't be for sure, and I'm still waiting on a copy of the police report.... I'll post a copy of it when I get it. Also, I haven't heard from my insurance company yet about what they are planning to do with the car.... I went by the body shop today, and they said the adjuster was out there for two hours going over the car with a "production manager" what that means I don't know, but if it took them two hours, hopefully they will replace the car.....
Thanks again everyone for the kind words...... I also went to the doctor today, I have a pretty good case of whiplash, and I'll know more tomorrow when he reads the X-Rays..... Ron |

Ron: Was reading your last post - why is your insurance company doing the pay out? Shouldn't the guy who rear ended you be taking the hit on his insurance? Did they not have insurance? Hope everything turns out well! Good luck, Tami |

Tami, it was a hit-skip accident and they have not caught the other guys yet. |

Ed: So I guess the guy that skipped also has quite a bit of damage since Ron hit him and put him into the retaining wall. I'm surprised he could drive it away. I would think they wouldn't have that tough of a time finding him - but with all of the chop shops around these days I suppose he could hide his car out pretty well. T |

sorry to see such a nice car like this in an accident, we own a collision repair shop, and 1st, glad you made it thru it, 2nd, it could be close, I looked at parts for mine just to see what they go for, and wow, the side panel goes for 10G, call adjuster, hope you get a new one. good luck |

one more thing, dont let them (the insurance) move the car from where its at now until you agree on a price. As long as they are payin storage fee, they are more apt to reach your price. good luck again. |

I'd say so, but I don't know what extras, if any, you had. You could get a brand new one for that $. Good luck! |

Instead of making fun of the gentleman (this is his first post according to his profile), gently direct him to the proper place where he will get the best responses to his needs? amariajr........Posting your request for help in finding a trailer would best be served in the Classified Ad forum. ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! Rich.......if you look at the date of the original post, this happened back in 8/02. For some reason the gentleman that is looking for a trailer found this post and used it to ask for help in looking for a trailer! It is, though, a stark reminder of what can happen to any car, even the Prowler. Although, in re-reading it, I still can't believe that Ron was driving 70 mph on a freeway without seat belts on.......... |
