I will be installing new rear speakers in my Prowler.

What ohm are the small and subwoofer's?

Speakers come in and out of production so what are the recommended ones in 2023?

This topic comes up a lot and needs its own section on this forum in my opinion. Does anyone agree with me.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Gary, I don't see the subwoofer mentioned very often.
I finally removed all three of my rear speakers and was surprised where it was actually located. I think I have been sleeping with all the discussion on speakers. I replaced the door and dash speakers many years ago and thought I should complete my job.

Another thing that surprised me is the subwoofer has four wires. Now more questions to follow. Any suggestions on a subwoofer with four wires that is only 2 1/4 inches high?

Hi Padroo, I do apologize…… I should have updated my question I had a while back…..
I just recently changed all mine with the answers I got from my question I hope the pics help, this is what I used. Unfortunately I don’t have a pic of the four wire installed but I did and it works great. I did have to modify the smaller speaker house around where the wires fit. The woofer fitted straight in. Thanks!

Thank you watisit for the information, I had trouble even locating the rear sub. I thought it would be right behind the grill and now that I think about it they did the best they could do with the space they had. Is this speaker 2 or 4 ohm?

Thank you again watisit. There aren't many 6.5 inch DVC (Dual Voice Coil) speakers that are short enough to fit the Prowler subwoofer box. I didn't know the purpose of the box until I took it apart. I ordered the Cadence speaker you recommended but it won't be delivered until December 1st.

Notice this original speaker has two inputs.
It measures 2 1/4 inches from the bottom of the magnet to the bottom of the mounting flange.

I finished installing the Cadence speaker today. It fit the opening, had to drill new holes, no problem. I installed a 1/2 inch spacer to close the gap between the two sections of the speaker box. Mine was plastic but a piece of 3/8 inch hard foam would have been better. I checked the polarity of all speakers with a volt meter.
