TooHipCatSORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST...DON'T KNOW HOW THIS HAPPENED!!!

I would like a little additional input on a front license plate mounting bracket. Wildcat already sent me a PM regarding this subject. I will check around my local speed shops. Thank You!
I did a search on this fantastic site and found a few threads dating back to 2002. I tried Real Rod but it doesn't look as if he carries that specific product anymore.
I have a NH State Trooper who paid a visit to my residence and wanted to see the Prowler. Even after seeing it he still told me that I have to get a front plate mounted A.S.A.P. to conform with NH motor vehicle laws. Apparently some unknown individual ratted me out!!! The officer didn't know who it was. He told me if he did he would have told me who made the complaint.
I drive with the utmost courtesy when I drive the Prowler. I mean if you happen to pi$$ somebody off...how can you hide with this type of vehicle. I mean it's impossible. In addition to that...I crack it up I'm sure you all know that not all of the parts can be easily replaced and at what $$$COST$$$.
Does anyone know of a custom front license plate mounting bracket that mounts under the drivers side front bumper?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks for you help everyone and have a great night.
Oh...one other thing...the State Trooper gave me a part number that his connection with DC gave him. Is or was there a front license plate bracket available from DC at one time? Is it still available???
Thanks again!!!
Brian

Want oneBrian,

I still have the original in plastic that was delivered with the car, the problem is most people do not want the dealer to put it on because it bolts straight into the front of the bumper fascia and looks terrible.

idiveI'm sure you can still get them from the dealers, but it's mounted to front of left bumper. There have been several posting make your own options without any visible alterations. Here is one method.
From another thread on making your own plate holder...
cmblockhuscontact Scott Curtis aka obi-wan at
scottsprowlerstuff@yahoo.com

he makes one that can fold the plate up when you dont want to have is shown and mounts under the left front bumper if you want it to show just pull the pin and it flips down.

good luck

WAYNEWIn Texas I have only been given a warning that I could get a ticket for not having a plate in the front by the police at the high school. I think they just wanted to see who was driving my car as I had let someone drive their kid to school for their birthday.

CJI don't know.........this may sound really dumb and maybe a crude solution, but do you think those plastic tie wraps would work? If you could find them long enough to wrap around the bumper (and they could be painted to match) and through the holes where you would normally put the screws for the license place bracket? That way you wouldn't have to drill into the bumpers, either. Just a thought...........
ed monahanI am still trying to figure out why Mickey (Idive's) car is silver and has Ohio plates!!! lol
idiveEd - shhhhhhh!!! Just between you and me, I'm in the process of doing some stock mods and I want to keep it quiet until I'm finished.
ed monahanI have Ohio covered for that, you need to pick one of the other 49. lol
thedqmanI have an extra front bracket that came from DC, I will gladly send it to you.
Send me your address in a PM

Marty UsherMove to another state!

Actually, if you are concerned about driling holes in your bumper, you may want to consider buying a used bumper on ebay or off a wrecked Prowler and save your original one.

GenoTexbuy a sawed-off and find out who snitched on ya

TooHipCatthedqman...
Thanks for the offer on the front bracket you still have from DC but I believe that's the one that has to be screwed into the front face of the bumper. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks CJ and everyone else that has helped me out so far. You guys have a lot of great ideas!!! Please keep them coming if you can. I do like GenoTex's the best...buy a sawed off.
Have a great day everyone. You guys are the GREATEST!!! You're always there to help out.

TooHipCatBob,
You probably did reply to this thread...the problem was that when I originally posted this new topic...it decided to post itself twice. You probably replied to the other one...sorry. Thanks to the administrators of this fantastic site for removing one of them.
Thanks again everyone!

CTProwlerBrian----- Guy in Viper club makes a bracket in a flexible plastic that just pushes into the vipers front grill! On and off in seconds. Lots of guys carry it in their trunk with Plate attached. If cop stops them they just say they removed it when they were detailing it that morning and forgot to put it back on. They get out and in a second it's on! No ticket!! I have none on my 5 vehicles and have never been stopped yet! Its a bunch of crap with the Statey! How many prowlers are there up your way in purple? It would be very hard to hide if you ran over someone, or robbed a bank, led Police on a High speed chase! Etc Isn't that the reason for a front plate to spot a vehicle coming at a Police officer. Or is it a Bigger target for radar Gun? Its crap! I'm not putting one on my cars, give me a ticket! It doesn't affect your insurance and its not a moving violation? Must be boring up there if they have time to stop by your house to worry about a FRONT Plate!! Find out who turned you in and tell him to get a life. Jealousy is a wicked thing!! JMO

Black Tie 161I got away with no front plate for about 6 months...then got stopped by someone who wanted to make cop of the year.

I got a warning, but then figured I better get a plate. Otherwise I'm just asking to be pulled over at any time in the future....screw that!

DR PROWLERNever had a front plate on the Prowler and never really had a problem(but it is illegal to drive up here without the front plate). If there was a removeable attachment(like the one CT mentioned for the Viper),I'd get one!
The front end just somehow doesn't suit a plate in my opinion.
If a cop sees a car on the road, they're usually too busy admiring the car to ever even notice the plate!
TooHipCat You guys are too funny!!! Believe it or not...I think the individual that ratted me out to the NH State Police...was another cop. I know for a fact that none of my neighbors did it. They're all pretty cool. I believe that the Prowler was singled out while I was up at the state capital showing the Cat to a RMV attorney. I wanted to prove my point that...aesthetically...there is no appropriate place for a front license plate on a Prowler.
Well...looks like my Good Faith gesture...backfired on me. That's what I get for trying to prevent this problem before it even happened.
I agree Chuck...put on a temporary plate frame. If I get pulled over...play dumb and say that I forgot to put it back on after the car show.
I also agree about the jealousy. I seriously don't feel like I'm anyone special driving my Cat. I take the time to talk to everyone. I never brush anyone off, cuz as you all know...some people have never seen one.
Once again everyone...Thank You for your help!!! Any further ideas or suggestions...please let me know.
Have a great night everyone!!!
Brian
CJFortunately, here in Michigan we only have to have one plate.
