My wife told me the other day that the turn signals are not working. Nothing happens when you flip the lever next to the steering wheel up or down. Nothing on the dash or on the outside of the car. Flashers don't work either. We noticed the left rear brake light appears to be out also. Can't believe a bulb would cause the problem, but I guess it could. Seems more like a relay or connection somewhere. Any suggestions? |

usually if the clockspring goes bad the airbag lite will come on also.being part of the srs,the lite will come on when any part of the srs goes bad.ck fuse,ck flasher,ck multi funtion switch. ------------------ This message has been edited by catfish on 12-02-2011 at 12:54 PM |

This happened on one of our cars - was the turn/flasher fuse that plugs in down by the brake pedal. |

We never could find a cause and it hasn't happened again. Not sure if there was some sort of a surge or what. |

and when one fails you need to replace every part on the car cause they will not be far behind. REBUILD YOUR PROWLER NOW! |

DOES ANYBODY KNOW FROM WHAT CHRYSLER CAR IST THE PROWLER CLOCKSPRING FROM OR IS IT SPAZIAL CLOCKSRING ONLY FOR THE PROWLER? MINE FAILED AND MAY HAVE SOME PROBLEMS TO FIND ONE IN EUROPE. I THINK THE STRREING WHEEL FROM THE PROWLER IS FROM A JEEP SO IT MIGHT BE ALSO A JEEP CLOCKSPRING !!!! ??? |

Might be an old battery issue? Low voltage could be the cultrate. Once the alternator charges up the battery the voltage is back to 12v Just an idea - Kcat |

CHANGED THE BATTARY 6 MONTH AGO AND UNTIL NOW EVERTHING WORKED..... ALSO GOT THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON IN THE DASH....... |

Got the car out today and had a look at this. Cause was a blown 15A fuse for the hazard flashers in the underhood fuse panel. Interestingly enough, this fuse will take out your hazard lights, turn signals and brake lights. The owner's manual was little help. It said the underhood fuse panel was behind the battery. The panel is actually up by the master cylinder and slightly under it. I guess technically "behind the battery" is correct since just about everything in the engine compartment is "behind the battery." You have to have some tiny hands to get to that panel as well. The brake lines coming off of the master cylinder kept me from doing too much from the top. I had to reach up under the car and feel my way around to take the panel's lid off and put it back on. Used a pair of long needle nosed pliers to change the fuse. Everything is good for now... |

Sorry blown but you just have to look at the panels and they come off. 3- 13mm bolts I think and you will find amazing access. They go back on just about as easily. It's just a bit funny that you went to the lengths you did. |

pay attention to the gaps before removing side panels,that way when you reinstall you will know what they look like,yes you will have to align them,which is easy,just 2 adjustments in and out and frt to back. ------------------ |

I'll keep the panels in mind for the next time I need to get at something back up in the engine compartment. Good to know it comes off with three bolts. I knew there would be some adjustment on the gaps though. However, with the long needle nosed pliers, getting to the fuse panel is really easy. Definitely easier than taking the side panel off and making the requisite adjustments. It's all about having the right tool(s). Roger, I'm glad you found someone trying to figure out the best way to do something as funny. I didn't see you jumping in with any constructive suggestions to solve this problem, but I guess the next time I want to know the proper way, I'll give you a call.
