Just saying that it's just the engine cover is more like it.. Maybe a car that doesn't run like a show car or is driven just to move it short distances like in and out off a trailer, as you will not be able to cool that engine with a factory 3.5 Prowler radiator like the one in the picture.. My stroker's 5.0 has to even have a custom radiator to keep the temp at half gauge.. One of my fellow Prowler members here in Colorado and spends the winters in Cali he to has the 5.7 and was required a custom radiator... Like I said Just Saying.. onecatnodog

JMO,,,, I would please like to see some install pictures to buy into this particular V8 install.

Catfish Jan was able to fool many by just installing a Hemi engine cover on top of his V6:

Putting a 375 hp engine in a rear wheel drive car that only weighs 2800 lbs without some SERIOUS mods to give it traction?......Come on.....

....What would be the point?

Even with 6.1 Hemi 425HP - you would be very surprised how well the rear wheels hook up. You would think you would just smoke the tires -- Wrong! Front end lifts, rears hook up and you are gone !!

Lowest priced HEMI engine swap to Prowler yet > $100

Then you pull up at the red light,,,next to a Nissan GT-R NISMO production line model with a V6 engine..... [it's orange, the fastest color],,,,2900 lbs,,,,600 HP & 510 lbs of torque,,,,and you find out what a real hard spanking feels like when the light turns 'green'

"Should have had a V8?" ---- would make no difference!

You drive home with a sore azz..........

I sure wish I could have had a chance to catch a ride in you 6.1 Hemi Prowler at the 20th Anniv. Event

If I put that ebay engine cover on then I could proceed with installing hood vents without worrying about water dropping down on the exposed coil packs!

I saw a Nissan GT-R run at Colorado Springs: Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack last June...it hit 255 MPH in a half mile...amazing. I've never seen anything like it, and no other car, exotic or whatever, even came close...not even modified Lamborghini Huracans, Challengers, Corvettes, etc...To see that live was unbelievable, and we'd watched cars run all day. We knew something special had occurred with that car! http://newsaboutcoolcars.online/3000-hp-nissan-gt-r-goes-255-mph-claim-half-mile-world-record/

However, I was reminded that if I want to go fast, I would have bought a GT-R. Instead, I wanted to be cool, so I bought a Prowler!

Good post Dr. Button.....

Many purists shame the V6 engine,,but the GT-R proves them wrong.

Also, as many aren't aware now-a-days,,,that Indy cars use V6 engines and run smoothly at 230 mph at Indianapolis

I agree with your theory....the Prowler is an exciting cruiser to own

With a starting price @ $175K, you could look cool with 7 Prowlers in your garage and a large wad of $100 bills to boot!
You could build quite a few twin turbo cars to run with the GT-R, but what would be the point?

(above link to a 2010 GT-R for $46k, or "best offer")

Let's compare apples to apples a bit here. The Prowler comes out of a used, not new, car market. So the used GT-R? Not that much more than a Prowler for a newer GT-R (2010) and still faster than most cars, and still with a V-6.

The point: I could have afforded a very fast GT-R, or a very COOL Prowler! I chose the later, and have not changed my mind. It is a simple question of priorities for nearly the same dollar. Both V6 choices, all the same...

A lot of people don't know that the V-6 in the Prowler is a V-6 Hemi. Just missing two cylinders to please the purist among us.

When you see a spark plug going through the center of a valve cover that is the giveaway.
