First I want to again thank Gary Miller for providing his TGF spoiler to be used as a plug to make the new spoiler. The mold making process has begun. I have decided to offer 2 options. We have raised up the TGF spoiler a very little to clear the existing brake light on the trunk. Option 1 will be the TGF style spoiler with no brake light for those who want to use the existing brake light. The price for Option 1 is $675. Option 2 will include a 12" x 5/16" LED light in the center of the spoiler. Supplied will be a blanking plate similar to the TGF blanking plate to cover the holes of the old brake light. The price for Option 2 is $750. Extra LED lights are $50 each. The new spoiler will work with the cloth top and hardtop and the Air Patrol. I do not have the footprint of The Prowler Store hardtop to confirm that it will fit. Hopefully someone will send me some pictures to verify that it will work. The new spoiler will be hand laid fiberglass with a black jell coat finish. I hope to have the first production units by mid May. Thanks you for your patience. Hi Gary , Some questions please. 1. These will be ready for paint.. Just light sand and paint 2. The led light is removable for paint. 3. Why offer a buy of another light 4. Light will get connected to existing wiring ? 5 what type of plate will cover existing 3rd light are they paintable. 6 mounted thru bolt.. I have bought from you in the past and your work is excellent. Just want to know what I need to prepare for.. Thanks Frank |

quote: My two cents to this question are as follows, I hope it helps: Eventually the LED lights may stop functioning and require replacement especially if it is a sealed unit. I have a TGF unit on my Kat and some of the LED's are no longer working. TGF will not support replacement parts on their product, they have been asked by a few of us here. This issue was brought up during Gary's R&D here on the forum which is likely why he is offering them individually for his product. This is the sign of a vendor that listens to his customer and thinks ahead while developing his product. Thanks Gary for choosing this avenue. Answers to Frank's questions. 1. Just like any fiberglass jell coat finish it will require block sanding, primer and final paint. This is what a paint shop would expect. 2. The LED will not be installed when shipped. It is attached with double back tape, so it is removable. 3. People asked for spare LED's. 4. I am not sure I will be able to purchase the connector used by the factory. It may necessary for me to provide replacement connectors. 5. The cover plate will be very similar to the TGF plate and will be made of fiberglass. It will be paintable. 6. The spoiler will have the option of mounting with double backed tape and/or bolts. I encourage everyone to ask their questions. I had a PM from someone who wanted to know why I selected a 12" LED for the brake light instead of something 24" long like the TGF light. I explained this is the new technology LED and I feel it looks great with the spoiler. ------------------ This message has been edited by GaryE on 03-08-2014 at 06:12 PM |

Thanks for doing this. Question, what about us rare few that would like to use the existing OEM brake light PLUS a brake light on the spoiler as well. |

Gary, any news? Also can I have an LED not only in the spoiler but also keep my stock 3rd brake light? |

Today we raised the spoiler slightly so the factory 3rd brake light can remain. I think I will prefer this over the new LED light. Both options will be offered. I am very happy with the results. Next we will be making the mold. Things are moving along very well. Still planning on production by mid May. ------------------ |

I had not thought about that, but it is a possibility. My only question is the additional LED load on the 3rd brake light circuit. I will check out how its works. ------------------ |

It should not be a problem. Just plug it in parallel to existing third brake light wiring. |

quote: There will be no issue. I frequent hid planet forums where we discuss ohms, resistance, etc... my idea is to tap existing third brake light wiring to your spoiler's led's. I assure you no issues will arise from this |

The mold is being fabricated at this time. I took some pictures of the spoiler on my Prowler and will try and post them. Not the best pictures. Hope to have production spoilers later this month. I am very happy with the results. Thanks for everyones patience. ------------------ |

Looks fantastic!!! Any chances you can try to hook up the spoiler LED so we can see it on and take a couple of pictures. Also, can you try to to push the spoiler 2 inches back and take pictures of it. The reason I say this is because those who have hardtops require to install the spoiler 2 inches back. I would like to see how the spoiler sits on the trunk lid when pushed back. Thanks. |

Sorry but I cannot connect the LED at this time as the spoiler is being used to make the mold. I have moved the spoiler back 1 1/2 inch and it fits great. The hardtops I have seen and used to verify do not require a 2 inch move. I am very sure the spoiler will work with the TGF hardtop, but I have not had a top made by The Prowler Store to check things out. If someone can take some pictures I can determine fit. ------------------ |

I like it! More pictures please. I have the Prowler Store hard top but I'm sure it is the same as the TGF Gen II. I can't wait to see the finished product. |
