What numbers are people getting after filling up the car? I understand all cars will vary. Driving style and location...etc etc... I just reached my highest yet. Plus I drove 5 miles home. So 259 thanks robin

My 99 didn't have that feature but last year I had my first low fuel warning at 184 miles at the NHN. I have found out my gas mileage sucks when traveling in a large group at events. If you have never been to an event before the rule is to fill up EVERY night before you return to your hotel. |

Your range after fill up will depend on your MPG before getting gas. I don't remember exactly, but on my trip to Vegas in 2012 I was avg 26-27 MPG. I was stopping for gas at about 250, low fuel light was coming on at 242 miles. I think the range at fill up was in the 285-295 range. |

If your Kat has aftermarket gears like mine does "Your mileage may vary" I once ran out of fuel at about 252 miles on the tank. Since it was my first long trip in the car, I was "trusting the fuel gauge" to be accurate but the car hadn't been driven much and it stuck. The gauge read 1/4 and the low fuel light didn't come on until I had been sitting on the side of the road for about fifteen minutes. After running out of fuel, I started filling the tank at 150 mile increments until I was comfortable going longer. Now, several years later I start getting nervous around 170-180 miles. It is interesting to watch the "Miles to E" in the mirror. Upon filling the tank it goes to somewhere between 210 and 225 miles. I can then drive for a few miles and once in a while that number increases. When it doesn't increase, it will stay where it is sometimes for as far as 30-40 miles. I now make it a habit of keeping the mirror set on the "Miles to E" display and put the "Trip" display in the dash on as well. This way I can watch the miles driven VS miles left at the same time and compare these numbers to what I see on the gauge. Because of the gears, I seem to get better MPG around town than I do on the Highway. |

Interesting how different cars with the same equipment get different mileage. Driving at 70mph I have a range of about 225 with my 2001. Also my low fuel light doesn't work, I found that out the hard way. This message has been edited by dskatt on 06-12-2014 at 04:01 PM |

Im usually at 250 to 260. But I'm lucky if I get 200 miles on a tank that could be because my air filter is black and I just changed my spark plugs. I just filled up only said range 170. This message has been edited by RJGR0713 on 06-13-2014 at 05:22 PM |

244 is the most I've seen out of my mirror before I sold the mirror. I only had it for about 3 weeks before selling mirror. |
