Jim, my humming was related to the ground wire in the front close to the battery. I took it loose and cleaned then put it back on and the humming stopped.

If you have a Prowler Service Manual, on pages 8W-90-2 and 8W-90-3 it shows 14 grounds on the car. My manual is for a 99.
It also references them to a nice picture so you can locate them. If you are a do-it-your-selfer like I am, the book will answer a lot of your questions. This forum as you know has a valuable knowledge base with years of experience as well. I have found that when you have a problem and you can get 2 or more references you will probably find your answer.

If you don't have the book a subscription to
http://www.alldatadiy.com/ has the complete book on their website plus all the recalls and service bulletins.
