We are on our second battery on our 99. It went dead August 2002. The car was built August 98 so the battery lasted 4 years. This message has been edited by BeWare on 10-06-2006 at 02:59 PM |

changed mine last year JUST IN CASE It still started and run OK but thought that maybe that was why it started hard warm. Didn't help warm start. I doubt the new battery last the 7 years the original one did. ------------------ |

quote: This is mainly because new car batteries are "fresh" batteries installed at the assembly plants. "Fresh",,as in freshly made. The batteries you purchase at a store or auto parts supply,,,,,, are,,could be,,may be,,,,,,,,,,,one to two years old before you have it installed. Many, have set through a season of storage,,,many in frozen climate areas stored in non-climatically controlled storage houses >>>>> and have gone through the freeze cycle once, before your purchase. The average life of a 'new' replacement battery bought to replace your original battery,,,,,probably runs a 18 month to four year life span,,,,,,,compared to the 'original' battery which goes much longer. |
