Kinky Friedman, the musician and author, is running for Governor of Texas as an independent. It was on the tube this morning that he turned in signatures so he could get on the ballot. In the clip, there was a Prowler that had been repainted as a campaign car. I went to the web site and was able to find a partial picture.

The car is not painted, it is all decals. Very good ones at that!

Thanks for the info. . .That's actually a relief. . . I mean, I like Kinky -- he's a funny guy. His solution of bribing Mexican Generals to keep illegals on their side of the border (piece rate) is a riot, but with a grain of truth. But it would have been a shame to see a Kat marked up like that.

Mark it up......Hel* yes

This is one cool car and the guy that owns it likes to have FUN. His car changes all the time. The basics stay but top graphics change.

The car glows in the dark when the lights hit it like a stop sign.

Just got back from Houston we were in the Art Car Parade on Saturday,250 cars and 200,000 people....been going full speed since last Thursday when we had our police escort up Congress ave. to deliver the petition to the Secretary of state and then again on Friday for the pre-parade visits to schools and hospitals with about 20 of the art cars and 4 motorcycle cops, going thru the red lights passing up Houston traffic was a lot of fun. during the parade those people loved the Kinkster ,it was almost like he had already won the election the way the were clapping and cheering. he was riding up on the deck with Little Jewford riding shotgun and Kate Smith singing God Bless America full volume on the cd player about thirty times.
That picture at the top of this thread is from a Saint Patricks Day Parade in Dallas a coupla weeks ago .the news paper put a picture of him drinking a Guinness Beer while we were driveling in the parade and then all hell broke lose in the media, saying that he was in violation of the state open container law . Kinky got more free publicity from that than he could have bought. The next day he said "It would be un-spiritual not to have a Guinness Beer in a Saint Patricks Day parade ,yes I admit to drinking the beer But I did not swallow ".

well its just a bit under 6 months to go until election day, I sure hope that he wins because that will extend this party for 4 years ............

Great! Another "didn't inhale", character doesn't matter candidate. Ask him if he knows the meaning if "IS".

Saw him on Larry King live a year ago. Complete loon.
Only reason he gets any airplay is because of that....

My prediction, Doesn't stand a snowballs chance.
