Only 17.....Thanks for posting.....I wonder how many of these got wrecked. I think last summer there was an attempted Kat-jacking downtown Chicago that resulted in someone getting shot. Pam called me when she saw it on the news...she thought it was a Yellow or maybe an Inca. I never heard anything else about it.

Wrecked.. hard to say.. I wish we had some way of knowing how many have been wrecked all total. One thing I found interesting about that site is you can see how many cars where built in any given year.. At a quick glance it looks like there have been about 12 Corvettes built for ever 1 Prowler. In the years that they where both being produced. |

The total amount of cars is not correct, unless that is the amount sold per year. It is not off a whole lot. I wonder if they were all recovered or none recovered. Zack, have you got a pal at NATB? |

Chris - I guess the thieves are saying "why steal a 99 Prowler when the other years are so much better?" This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 10-06-2005 at 07:32 PM |

I just sold a 99, already had a 2002 and bought another 99. There is very little difference in my opinion. I know Marty was joking. |

Cool info ... but I'm stumped. Is the year the calendar year in which the thefts took place or is it the year of the car??? I've read all the searchs, but can't figure out which they are conveying ... |

I can't believe people actually steal Yugos. I guess that just goes to show you that thieves are interested in good gas mileage too... THEFT RATES FOR YUGO PASSENGER VEHICLES Year Make Model Thefts Production Rate Type |

It was probably one guy who stole all the Yugos. He only got a few blocks with each one, had to steal another one to make it to the bus station. |

This is even more shocking I heard dealers could hardly give these away and yet over a 100 were stolen. Maybe dealers were paying someone to steal them

Those weren't stolen. Ed repoed them cause the owners refused to put any more money into paying for them. |
