Every event has been great and had a special meanings for both of us. Owning a Prowler and being part of this Family has enriched our lives more than we could have ever imagined when we purchased our Prowler in April 1999. All I can think about after each event ends is how soon we can again get together with our Prowler family. Here are my choices for our top five events and the reasons. This is in order on occurrence and not necessarily signifigance. I would not even want to try and do that. 1) Woodward Dream Cruise August - 2000. This was out first chance to meet other Prowler owners from around the country. It was also our first tour of CAAP. The Harold Sullivan collection and running a pack of Kats 3 and 4 wide, up to 10 rows or more deep, down Woodward Avenue was absolutely incredible. 2) CAAP tribute event - February 2002. The day Prowler owners gathered to pay tribute to the employees one week before the last Prowler rolled off the line. I will never forget that day. 3) Prowlin the Rockies - July 2002. Made many more new friends. 75 Plus Kats and owners. We got to drive the Prowler nearly every single day for 3 weeks and put just over 5200 miles on it. One day I spent 13 hours behind the wheel. Not to mention the scenery was incredible. 4) Prowlin the Smokies August 2003. The biggest event to date with 110 plus Prowlers and owners. Got to meet and make so many more new friends. 5) Texas Stampede. Again made more new friends. Visiting the Krehel Museum and seeing the Hi Voltage Blue in person was a extreme thrill. Also the drags and seeing the worlds fastest Prowler eat up the quarter mile. Someday we will have to go back and see the first and last Prowlers parked side by side. |

2001 Woodward - our first large Prowler event 2002 Louisville - the first Prowler event we planned 2002 Rockies - Great scenery and the "adult" driving session on Sunday 2003 Smokies - Largest Prowler event to date, Frank & Brandie going over the cliff just in front of us and we couldn't see them. 2004 Smokies - lots of rain and we still had an amazing time. There are so many more that all ben fun. I'd advise you to be prepared if you plan to attend Belle Plaine Bar B Que days sponsored by RealRod. |

Wow.........what a question! Hosted quite a few... particpated in a LOT!! Tough choice for the top few. Wasn't one I haven't enjoyed for many reasons.......location, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. If I had to pick a top five......... 1) CAAP Tribute - It wasn't your typical Prowler event with cruising, etc. It was held here in Michigan in February. I hosted this one and because of my special relationship with the people at the plant, it meant a great deal to me. It was a very special thing for the owners, but even more so for the people who work at this plant. They still talk about it. Won't be something I will ever forget and neither will they. 2) Prowlin' the Rockies. Another one I got to help host. Got to go back home and prowl the mountains. Beautiful scenery..........no better place to prowl. Loved it and would love to do it again! 3) All the Woodward events (including cruisin' to Hell)! Best and biggest car show! 4) Prowlin' the Smokies. Another great cruisin' in the mountains event.........lots of cars......Tail of the Dragon. 5) Grand Canyon, Texas Stampede, Crazy Horse, Louisvilles, Skylines, Cruisin' the Coasts, Michigan Pumpkin Run, Auburn, Prowlin' Canada, Niagara Falls, Turkey Run, Texas Speed Week and every other smaller event I've been to. They are all special and we've had a blast at all of them! |

The top 25, maybe. No way I could pick only 5. Laddie's Cruisin the Coast was a lot of fun, except Sandy was in a lot of pain (and not because of being with me.) We therefore took the PT and I smoked it down the 1/4 mile strip. lol My favorite is always the last one we attended. Daytona Turkey Run this year was great. The FIRST one was the Grand Canyon/Route 66 which was absolutely awesome. The 30 or so in between those two were all great. We have never had anything less than a great time, honestly. I do not say complimentary things just to say them. All the events have been great. Louisville and the farmer on the plow. Route 66 and DavidN flagging down a German tourist and getting on his motorhome. Deadwood and taking Jesse for his first motorcycle ride and first beer. lol Dublin, OH and all the old cars. Skyline and meeting some of the East Coast folks. Lighthouse Tour and hunting for that elusive pin. The Caap Tribute was very emotional for a lot of people. It was uncomfortable at first and then they saw how much we appreciated the job they did. Woodward a few times. Always a good time. PA Dutch country and the little kids giving us a "thumbs up" and getting cut off by a horse and buggy, for real. I am partial to the Smoky Mtn. event due to the Tail of the Dragon and Steve doing all of my work for me. A LOT of Prowlers. Texas where everything was first rate. (except the weather, which no one can control) Colorado was totally great. Awesome scenery. The Field of Dreams on the way to Deadwood was really cool. Canada this year was memorable. I got a bill for the 407 again today. I hope I don't have to repo my own car. lol If you have never made it to an event, you have no idea how much fun you are missing out on. Try to make it to the Dells. That will be a biggie. |

quote: There have been quite a few great events out West. Larry Lord and others in California have consistantly hosted events in California. Just as it is usually too far for the California memebers to drive to partictpate in events in other parts of the country, it is equally inconvenient for others to make it to the West Coast. I have attended an event in SoCal while I was working there or a few days but without my Prowler. Several West Coast members have attended various events in the central and eastern parst of the country also. In the early days, the Grand Canyon was one of the first places many POA people met for an event. |
