I guess by now you all know that my Prowler is going through certification in Europe and that's a cumbersome process with a lot of " your not serious about this are you !!!" remarks to the authorities. Both Austrian Prowler and Condor must have gone through a similar process. Just to give you a flavour of what I have to do to my Prowler just for certification I have included the following pic. Does not make me a happy camper for the time being. However................... Good news : This is for certification only and can be

Oh crap ! They cannot be serious !! Kees, take a deep breath and try to forget this horrible image - like you already mentioned, Austrian Prowler told me in detail the scrutiny he had to go thru in order to receive his 'registration' for Austria ! THAT IS UNREAL to say the least !!What a ridiculous act on part of the authorities ! Hang in in there Kees - just don't pi$$ them off or they'll give you more hassles ! DAMN ! |

I hope you get that certification done soon so you can turn that frog back into a prince! What did you put over the stock headlights? Looks like some kind of film.

Don't leave that duct tape on too long or you will have one hell of a time getting it off. That stuff makes a terrible mess... |

Kees, your mods look unbelievable! Don´t tell Roman (DR Prowler) or Chris (cnote6) about your mods, otherwise they also want the new "frontlook"-mod for their cats. O.K., to be serious: On the backside your Inca-Lady should look like my Mulholland. I don´t understand our authorities, that we have to do these "monstermods", because everyone there knows that the next day we take these mods off. But what should I say, if they like this way ..... Kees, hold out! I can tell ya, it is worth every minute to fight with the registration authorities, because your Prowler will give you so much fun back!!! Now you are nearly before the fun can start, ..... but damned it is winter in Europe. O.K. you Dutch-guys don´t have so much snow, like we have in Austria. Gery http:// |

Hey Kees....as soon as I saw the look,it made me decide to finally leave the bumpers on and go with it.....that is priceless! Gery, being Austrian myself I know that importing a car is a challenge in itself and that's what detters a lot of people from doing it in the first place. You guys are Die-hards,what can I tell you! |

Fortunately we had a waiver on the headlights as we have strict regulations in regards to the distance they are apart. At one stage it was proposed that we would have to put the small hotrod type 7" sealed beam types on but sanity prevailed. We do however have to put turn signals on the mirrors as the side panel indicators are not far enough out to see at all angles. I have spoken with the conversion guys and its unbelievable the certification they have to get even to have these mirror lights tested. The left to right conversion costs will be a killer though at around AUS$35k. My import taxes are around AUS$15k....that totals about how much I had to pay for the car in the first place...we have to put brand new tires, brake linings and all filters changed as part of the conversion regardless of how old they are. I cannot get any parts back (except tires) after the works done .....hopefully it will be here early 2005 as container space is not available at the moment...can't wait. |
