Took the car to work Monday and on the way home along a stretch of about 2 miles there are two lights. I'm at the first one and who but a new Cobra Mustnag pulls up and nods to me. Hmmmmm, wonder what he wants?? First I made sure there was no cop on the other side of him, I've seen that commercial, and I'm safe. We punch it and after about 1/8 we're neck and neck. I waved him off and when we got to the next light he asks "What happened, (big smile on his face)? I told him I forgot to switch to the V8, he looks a bit puzzled. Prior to stopping I flipped the switch so I say "but I'm ok now". We take off this time and he is still looking for his doors on the road somewhere... I LOVE THIS KAT!!

Don, you know I only mark the scratches in the handle for Honda's... hehehe I have to say it was a Black Mustnag so I guess it was one of the faster ones, right? Wish I could find him again, I think I saw one of the doors tonight on the way down the same stretch coming home..

Hey Doc, on those cars I just have to show up with a Prowler and the fans move over to where I parked!! I really had that happen about two years ago with a Lambo at Sonic. He had a crowd around him until I pulled in and that was it. He got real lonely and left shortly after. Same thing happen again at the same Sonic when they had a Classic Chevy Show there and I pulled in for a banana split. One Dad told his son, who wanted to go look at a 65 vette, you go ahead while I talk here. hehehe I'm trying to eat my ice cream and and their pumping all kinds of questions at me.. You gotta love the Prowler!

Hey guys, I tried to play nice and respect the prowler. I take a few friendly pokes, but all in good fun. I think ya'll must have some hair balls.

Prwlyn, you may have just run up against a V6 or stock GT with a Cobra badge. Some peole dress up their cars to make them their own. I sprinkled a bit of cat nip out there, and look what it attracted.

Question: What did the prowler say just before it got killed?????

Answer: Watch this!

The Mustangs/Cobras can diss us all they want. From (and I realize it is only a few pages) reading the posts in the above links, all their dissing the Prowlers talk, none of them posted what kind of times they run in the 1/8 or 1/4 mile. I'd guess some of us would certainly give them a run for their money in the 1/8 and hold our own against a lot of them except the most heavily modified Cobras in the 1/4.

Mike's 11.65 quarter mile time, along with the other 11 second cats and a host of 12 second cats will get respect where it counts - racing. Who cares what they say on an internet forum.

There's no doubt in my mind a Cobra can be modified to be faster than the fastest Prowler. If I wanted to just go fast, I would bought a V8 car or a Viper. I'll keep what I got - thanks. You Ford people - enjoy your's too.

For the Cobra guys (and Mary - see I did read your posts) who are lurking there. I have some time slips from my local 1/8 mile track showing low 8's (8.14 to 8.23) in the 1/8th with a 1.82 to 1.94 60 foot times on a stock Prowler 3.5 liter moter and 150 HP shot of juice on street tires. With my new 4.0 stroker motor, once I get the fuel delivery and tuning finsihsed, I should be able to get that in the 7's with 1.4 mile in the 11's. Not exactly rice burner times you're trying to compare our cars to.

It's good to see people take pride in their cars. It's too bad when some people have to get ugly about it.

I read all 3 boards...

I had a stock Mustang 5.0 that ate a Vette for breakfast...I considered Camaros my rival. Hated ricers.

I had several Camaros ...some beat Mustang GT's at stoplights...Now THEY were my rival....and I still hated ricers...LOL.

I bought a Prowler to GET AWAY from street racing (I was getting in too much trouble), and the ridiculous brand bashing... I cruise, I enjoy my car, and I almost never have anyone try to race me like when I had other cars...not because my car is so super scary, but most people recognize it for what it is....a laid back cruiser. Even ricers don't bother me anymore...the rivalry is gone.

Big props to Cobra40 for seeing the big picture...but the trash talking is just sad to read. Then again, to be fair, if I had a Mustang and a Prowler owner was dissing my car because he thinks he's hot sh-t, I would start to hate Prowler owners too.

How hard is it to enjoy what we drive without swinging our balls into everyone's faces? Why do we have to feel whatever we are driving is better than anyone else's?

How would this play out in 1910?
"Hey punk, my Model A will blow the doors off your POS Stanley Steamer."

"Oh yeah? Once I turn this crank 40 times until it kicks over, and adjust the various steam pressures, your *** is grass..."

Funny how kids and some old men with a dime a dozen mustang all think they have a car that does warp speed. All I read was excuses and lip on those sites! No hack against mustangs. I guess they are all right if you want something that you see 5 of at every stop light. Hey, wait, this is a hack! I personally can't stand them with the exception of the 70 and earlier or an occasional roush. I expect that 99% of the owners have mullet hair do's and their house sits on a set of cragers. And bt161, as long as people have been around there has always been the "mine does it better and faster" crowd. You can bet that someone DID say "My steamer will kick your model a's can!".
