quote: I know. Actually, my 14th wedding anniv is Wed the 9th. The weekend before we will celebrate, then Friday the 11th is Kozican's wedding, and we have an SVTOA car show at Champion Ford on Katy Freeway on the 12th. So I won't be able to make it. If anyone is coming back down I-10 on Saturday, drop by. Show may be a little thin since an event called "Stang Bang" is happening that weekend as well. That event is more for the "hard core" racers though. But we will be at the Champion show. Thanks for the invite anyway. Definitely another time. First of all Congrats to Fred Secondly, street racing HAS NO RULES, No shoulda coulda woulda, no stock versus stock deal, it has to do with the two vehicles at hand at that brief moment,,, run, be safe and be careful,,,,,,,,,be faster... BTW, there are no RED lights,,,,,lol |

Cobra40..........it's a shame that the other boards can't just respect the cats for what they are. They're not street racers by design. I spent some time reading the other boards and they can say what they want, but they don't know anything about Prowlers...obviously. I laughed at the comment with regard to the Prowler coming from a PT! I guess they didn't know that Prowler came first! Unfortunately, there are people who are pretty narrow minded. That's the great thing about this site and this club. For the most part, everyone seems to be able to get along in spite of any differences. Well, enough time wasted on Cobra sites.......I have to get ready for TEXAS!!! Whoopee!!! ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

Let's take into consideration that the average age of a Mustang owner is what, 26?? The average age of the Prowler owners is 52, if I remember correctly from a poll we did. I think it is just that we have "learned" what is important and now we're enjoying it in our cats. ------------------ |

Their average age may be 26, but from what I was reading Fred, most were acting like they were 12! Cobra 40 did say that Koz was ok, but that the rest of us were fair game! |

Proud 2003 cobra owner here, just wanted to say you Prowler guys are awesome. I do believe the original story posted. I am embarrassed that I belong to a group of cocky *******s who call them selves car enthusiasts. You guys deserve a ton of respect for holding your cool, and letting these immature insecure guys rant. mad props. http://www.gpsmatt.com/msbs/Prowler%20NOS%20vs%20Corvette%20Drag.mpeg |

More fuel to the fire.. Here are some videos I took while my prowler and JD's prowler were getting the stage 3 kit installed.. We both back then got 332 rwhp... The problem with most mustangs or cobras is the take off... They have to granny start into 1 and second gear and by the time they have good traction the modified prowler are long gone. http://www.prowlerexcitement.com/PaxtonVideos/PaxtonMovies.html Look what happended to a 460 HP mustang... |

quote: To TLRandall: The "fair game" comment, was before I realized the extent of what was going on. Things happened REAL fast that day. Ever say anything before really thinking it thru. Well, I appologize for that comment too. I really did not intend any dissing and only had good intentions and meant everything I said in jest. Others will have to own up and appologize for themselves. What Marty Usher wrote about the stock '03/'04 Cobras is true. We do have the problem with wheel spin because of all the torque, and, wheel hop with the IRS. I also mentioned the weight/hp advantage in favor of the Prowler and the big tires giving traction. I did not elaborate as far as he did. I did research the cats before saying anything. See the following post on the POA Classified on 5/23/04 @ 11:45P. Yea, a few good natured digs at Mr. Don, but he started it with "Heyya Tedddddd..." further up on the thread. BTW, reality is that late model Cobras are built for road courses and not for drag, which is why the launch problems unless the suspensions are modded and drag rads are used. And, I did humble myself because of the dissing that came your way as result of my posts. I realize now that I was a little to zealous in my intentions were not clear in trying to promote cross-over club relations. I should have just stated my intentions straight up. Hope it can still happen. I still cannot believe that level of hostility exists. Live and learn. I mostly show my car. My favorite shows to attend are the "open" ones where you get to meet all different types of people and their toys. I really hope to get a Prowler for the wife before we get to the average age. I'm 42 now, and, my wife is...well I know better than to say her age, but she is younger. She'll show the prowler and I'll show the Cobra. And, guess where all the mod money will be going. Better get mine done while I can. I'm still going to work on a "meet and greet" at HRP between our clubs. No one from the hatin' site though. It'll be fun if there is interest here. There are so many car clubs in Houston, and hardly any interaction, except the Space City Cruisers. They have all kinds. I really would like to see and encourage more clubs at the open shows. Hey Cobra 40 - No need to explain! I wasn't being critical - just pickin on Koz! Like I said - this group is very good natured - we love to talk about our cars and take pride in what we have. We also keep things light by picking on each other, just having a little fun among friends. I would hope that you and some of the others do meet up with us. The thing I like about Prowler owners - especially this group - is that no one cares who has what or how much each other makes - its all about the cars and doing something other than WORK! God it's nice to be poor and a Prowler owner! ------------------ |

Cobra40, I was out looking at the 05 Stang and they finally are headed back to the older look. I've always liked the Mustang but not once they went away from the Mustang look of yesteryear.. I do believe that if I had my pick it would be the new FORD-GT, that is a good looking machine! Look forward to meeting you at the Wedding... ------------------ |

quote: Right, who wouldn't want a Ford GT! And the new 05 Stang retro look is really sweet. I'ld really like to get the next Cobra edition, but I plan on getting Rashann a Yellow for our next toy. Some of our guys went up to Dearborn for Leadership Training and got a sneak peak at the "secret" section of the SVT garage in Dearborn, but had to sign non-disclosures. They didn't talk, but did say that considering Shelby is back in the coral, things will get REAL intereting. I look forward to meeting some of ya'll at the wedding too. Everyone drive their cars, I'll be in mine, but only if Don has said his prayers and it doen't rain in their day. |

Hey, I fogot something. I have heard that when you SC the Prowler, there is no place for the heat exchanger. So you have to run without intercoolers? Well, if that is the case, I just read that ATI is developing a new Stage II kit for the 03/04 Cobras. This kit has 2 air-to-air sequential intercoolers that work inline with the Cobra's factory water-to-air intercooler. The part that might be of interest to you is that they are each 6x9x4" deep. There has to be room on the prowler for these little guys. If what I've been told is acurate, then I'm sure some of the fabricators on this site could retro-fit these to fit. Maybe they could fit behing this guy's new cowl design. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/001615.html Hope this helps. This message has been edited by Cobra40 on 06-04-2004 at 11:56 PM |

Hi. I've always liked the looks of the prowler but I don't see one, even running 12.7 on the juice beating a 03' cobra. Or at least walking one. Like I'm sure someone has mentioned, ANYTHING can happen on the street. There are a lot of people driving cobras only for the name and rep they have while not knowing how to "drive" them at all. I have a mustang, it's a 1987 GT. I'm in North Richland Hills, TX. If someone local has a prowler that wouldn't mind lining em' up, I'd like to see what I can do against a worthy competitor. Motor for motor, I have no form of power adder on my car. |

Random thoughts... Performance forums are great....as long as they stop insulting people who choose not to do huge performance mods. I think the new 05 Mustang os one of the nicest designs I've seen in a while. Street racing is stupid, dangerous, and costly in populated areas. Keep it on the track or open desert roads. Dealership service depts. HATE prowlers. I like cheese... |
