Ilost my R. side mudflap & bracket at 2001 Woodward Cruise. I went to my dealer to buy a new bracket & have it installed. They told me the bracket was not available & I'd have to buy the entire fender....$700.00!!!!! So I bought a wreaked fender...Pryed the mudflap bracket off & had the dealer reinstall.(Glue)(all at my expense) Well ....the bracket & flap fell off somewhere again. The side of my Kat is getting chips....Anyone else have this problem? Seems I read that some of you had it replaced under warranty?! I have a "99". Is their a phone # at DC I can call? Hell...I have a buddy who ran over a chunk of steel....Blew out his tire....Had his Kat towed....bought a New tire & DC is paying for all expenses! He has a "99" also.....Just a different dealership in another town!(This happened to him last week) Can anybody help me out here? Thanks in advance! |

Never had any issue's with my bracket... got the front mud flaps and they help, but yes i do notice chips in my paint... From what i've read I though it was normal... to get some chips and that the flaps help but dont 100% stop chips.. |

You can glue a mudflap directly to the fender. |

...I had a '99 that the bracket and flap fell off of, luckily I found it and the DC body shop put it back on with some sort of resin that they said was stronger than the fender itself......last year I had a 2001 that I had a flap and bracket fall off of it, my local dealer ordered me in a new fender to take care of the problem....WARRANTY Still stuns me that DC never decided to stock the $2. bracket instead of replacing the entire fenders under warranty..... |

Not a bad idea Ed! Have you done it B-4? Thanks Tangled up in Blue....I figured there are others...Wonder why the Dealership/ DC wouldn't honor my "99" in 2001? Seems a bit unfair!! |

You guys realize that it would be cheaper just to make up a bracket? Bob Goetz, Are you listening? You should make some up and offer as a replacement as I'm sure that some more are going to fall off. JRL |

I guess I could make a bracket but I have fixed 2 fenders doing the following and to the best of my knowledge they are still on. 1 Take front tire off 2 Scuff and clean inside of fender where mud flap comes in contact 3 Use 3M 2 face redline automotive tape, apply 3 strips horizontal. 4 Stick to fender. 5 Put wheel back on. The whole thing should take 20 minutes and cost you $10. And AC you cannot patent this and charge a user fee. ------------------ |

Thanks for the imput everyone! I called DC at the number this morning that CJ posted. Thanks! Well it didn't do me any good! I talked with them for 20 min. explaining the problem..What I did to try & fix it...& why would other folks who are having the same problem have a fender replace for Free & not me? She said there are NO reports of problems with Mud flap brackets falling off & No fender could be replaced under warranty!! I asked her if she was familar with the POA on the internet? She said yes ...but we don't pay attention to complaints on the internet! She said there are no workmanship problems or recalls on Fenders. I said ....there are workmanship or adhesive (Glue)problems related to the Fenders & Brackets. She said NO THERE IS NOT!! Guess I'm out of luck!! She was fairly polite ...But I'm still P.O. ed!!!!(Guess I'll try one of the methods posted by you Guys!!) |

NO FENDERS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY.....Sounds like she is well trained in stall tactics....I have had 2 replaced...another Kat in town has had one replaced, I had one repaired under warranty....THATS 3 KATS IN MY TOWN ALONE, not counting all the other Kats, towns, and states out there....she is either misinformed or full of SH!T....a few years ago I ran into a similar problem with the side pods on a Viper....they tend to bubble like rust....long story, but they denied the claim 2 times.....then replaced them for another Viper owner....I went over to the dealership when I heard about this and demanded a new set of pods for the car...GOT 'EM !!! |

Well the 1st phone call to DC(talked with Leshawn) this morning went lousy! My 2nd phone call to DC a few min. ago(talked with Matt) went ok .....but he was not familiar with Prowler Problems!(so he claimed) I told him of my delimma & he said he'd look into it! I told him...I'm not alone out here with this problem & there is a workmanship problem with the chincy brackets being Glued on this beautiful car!! Also told him others have had their fenders replaced at NO CHARGE! I then got a call back from DC computer asking me two questions. Was I satisfied with the service & response to my phone call. I answered NO to both....by pushing 1 for no & 2 for yes! Makes you almost feel Human! |

WARRANTY should not depend on who you talk to.. I'm told that DC monitors this site....If that is true They need to get their act together... I have BMW's and Jaguars.. no problems with warranty work there. Just because DC doesn't make Prowlers anymore... So DC, if your lurking out there...HELP the guy out.. Don.. ------------------ |

I hate to say this...but I am not surprised by the lack of response. I too have had warranty work refused on my '99 by the DC area reps. The problem had originally been fixed under a TSB, however, the problem did not stay "fixed" with their solution. Upon returning to ask them to repair it correctly this time I was told "No." Actually, I have never heard from the DC reps, even though I called the 800 number and asked for the rep to physically see the problem...just no returned call from the dealer about the problem. |
