Forgot who but, one member here recently bought a new hemi engine and tried. The engine fit (I think) but, all the ancillary parts had to be fabricated and/or wouldn't fit so he sold the engine.

Too bad, would have loved to have seen that.

The owner who attempted the Hemi engine swap for his Prowler was Moparmania from Canada. Here are the two links discussing his project!

Jim, the 426 Hemi would be really cool, but as someone else has tried and failed, my plan is to put in one of the new 5.7 Hemi's, like available in the new Dodge Ram pick-up. IT WILL NOT BE EASY, and it wiil not be completed this year due to the engineering necessary. The new 5.7 Hemi's demintions are very similar to your V-6. I want it to fit without body modifacitions, and at present the Truck intake manifold is too tall for the Prowler hood. That may soon become a non issue with the new "wagon" to be released soon ( with the 5.7 Hemi ) which has a lower hood profile than the truck which will mean a new designed intake manifold. The Main issues of concern are the transaxel's ability to take the punishment, The hemi's fuel management computer networking with the Prowler on-board computer, for gear changes, and the multi-fire ignition coil packs. We are working on all of these programs now and may possibly offer a complete Kit to make the modification if we receive positive response from other owners who may want or feel the need for more power and that V-8 rumble that the prowler should have always had. We have already spent a lot on R&D and the project will require much more spending. This will not be a cheap proposition, nor a project to be taken on by a novice. Estimated cost of a do-it -your self kit will be $12,000-$15,000. The present cast iron block 5.7 Hemi is around $6300 and the newer aluminum block version ( which the Prowler needs) will be considerably more. I feel most owners will not spend the money, and that's okay. I'm doing this for me, because I have the need and desire to hear that V-8 in my Prowler.

Yes someone did put a 5.7 new HEMI in a prowler
and they said it now runs super quick, the only
problem they have is a vibration problem they are
trying to work out.
